Glendale grade school celebrates Earth Day with STEM-focused activities
By Agnes Constante
Published: April 24, 2015, Asian Journal
On the 45th anniversary of Earth Day, robot sculptures created with recyclable materials by
students in transitional kindergarten through eighth grade were on display for the first time in
the auditorium at Holy Family Grade School in Glendale, Calif. See more on the link below…
http://asianjournal.com/news/glendale-grade-school-celebrates-earth-day-with-stem-focusedactivities/
Our families are conscious of recycling. The robots and other sculptured ideas showed how our
families engaged themselves in the Science process. We collaborate to help keep this world
green. The task calls us all to examine how we use and share the goods of the earth and how
we live in harmony with God's creation. - Fr. Jim Bevacqua, Pastor - Holy Family Catholic
Community

Recycling is important because it helps maintain our environment. We can make many things out of
recyclables. HFGS made this a reality during Earth Day. The display of robots created by students from
all grades showed their creativity, as they truly embraced all aspects of STEM. Technology has become
an essential part of our lives, and our students have shown their knowledge and skills by creating
amazing robots using only recyclable materials from home.

Spring Concert 2015
Class of 2015 performed last year’s Rock ‘N Roll Spring Concert.
Our Annual Spring Concert will be from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, May 1st. The students have
planned a very entertaining evening for you under the direction of Mr. Tom Makiling. The theme this
year is Broadway Musical. The general rehearsals will be held in the Grade School Auditorium and the
concert will be held in Glendale High School Auditorium, 1440 East Broadway, Glendale, CA 91205.
The admission is $15.00 per person. We will issue the tickets and assign seating in the order payment
has been received. The earlier you send your order and payment, the closer your seating assignment will
be. Please take note that all Holy Family students will have assigned seats with their classes so you do
not have to purchase tickets for them. Our students get a FREE admission. This also applies to children
whose ages are four years old and below. Thank you and we look forward to a very enjoyable evening.
Thank you and let us ALL be Good Shepherds to our flocks,
Miss Fidela Suelto, Principal
