HOFFMAN ESTATES HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR INFORMATION
I.
CAP AND GOWN DISTRIBUTION, FRIDAY, MAY 1st
CAPS and GOWNS will be distributed on the West Gym Shelf according to the first letter of the
student’s last name; please see the schedule below. Before you can pick up your cap and gown – all
applicable fees must be paid; you must have passed the Constitution test; and if you took drivers
education privately, you must have turned in your certificate of completion.
Take your cap and gown home, try it on for fit, and place it on a hanger to release wrinkles. DO NOT
PRESS THE GOWN WITH A HOT IRON. Report any problems immediately to Mr. Hoeft in Student Services.

If you cannot pick up your cap and gown during your assigned time, please come during your lunch
hour or seminar. After this date, caps and gowns may be picked up in Student Services during the
week of May 4th.
II.
GRADUATION TICKET DISTRIBUTION, FRIDAY, MAY 1st
Eight (8) graduation tickets will be distributed to each senior participating in the commencement
ceremony. You will be asked to count and sign for your tickets. Though these are not reserved seats, a
seat is available for each ticket issued. Children 5 years-old and above attending the ceremony will
need a ticket. LOST OR STOLEN TICKETS ARE NOT REPLACED.
Special seating tickets for handicapped guests are available in Mr. Schumacher’s office. You will be
asked to exchange two (2) of your graduation tickets for these special seating tickets. Your new
tickets will accommodate your handicapped guest and a companion who may then sit on the main
floor in the designated section.
III.
SENIOR LUNCHEON TICKETS GO ON SALE TUESDAY, MAY 5th
Senior luncheon tickets will be on sale Tuesday, May 5th, Thursday, May 7th, Tuesday, May 12th, and
Thursday, May 14th. The tickets will be available in the school store during 3rd Block for $17.00. NO

IV.
FRIDAY, MAY 29th - SENIOR LUNCHEON
The Senior Luncheon is scheduled for Friday, May 29th at Chandler’s Banquet Facility in Schaumburg
from noon – 2:00 p.m. Nice school clothes, acceptable within the school dress code, are the
appropriate dress for this event. A pre-purchased ticket is required for admittance.
V.
PROM, SATURDAY, MAY 30th
This year's prom will be held at Belvedere Banquets in Elk Grove Village from 7:00 – 11:00 p.m. The
theme is “Forever Young." Tickets will cost $120.00 per couple or $60.00 per single (cash or money
order only) and will be on sale Wednesday, May 6th from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. in room 152 and
Thursday, May 7th from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. in room 152. For further information, please see Ms.
Carlson in Student Services or Mrs. Ryon in Social Studies. TICKETS ARE NOT TRANSFERABLE.
Departure for the Post-Prom trip to the Spirit Boat Cruise on Lake Michigan will be from the
Belvedere Banquets in Elk Grove Village promptly at 11:15 p.m. Tickets costing $50.00 per
couple or $25.00 per single, (cash only). Tickets will be sold Wednesday, May 6th from 6:00
– 8:00 p.m. in room 152, and Thursday, May 7th from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. in room 152. In order for
a couple to purchase a ticket, the signed parent permission slips must be submitted and proof of
attendance at Prom must be shown. The H.E.L.P. chaperones for the post-prom trip will contact
the parents of couples not present at departure time. TICKETS ARE NOT TRANSFERABLE.
Post prom permission slips are available on the HEHS website and in the main office.
VI.
GRADUATION PRACTICE, THURSDAY, MAY 28th
Seniors will practice from 8:45 – 11:00 a.m. at the Willow Creek Main Auditorium. All seniors
marching on Thursday evening MUST attend the practice. You must make your own arrangements
for transportation. You MUST be on time. Please allow enough time to travel, park and find your seat
in the auditorium. Seating assignments will be given when you arrive. NO HATS, FOOD, OR DRINKS ARE
ALLOWED IN THE AUDITORIUM.
Restroom facilities are limited, and SMOKING IS NOT ALLOWED within the
building, which, of course, includes the restrooms. Please be aware that attendance at the rehearsal
is mandatory. If you do not attend rehearsal, you will not be able to march in the ceremony.
VII.
COMMENCEMENT CEREMONY – THURSDAY, MAY 28th
The ceremony will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m. at the Willow Creek Main Auditorium. The
pre-commencement concert will begin at 5:30 p.m. Seniors are to meet at 5:00 p.m. in the designated
areas. No provision for changing clothes or storage of personal property such as cameras, purses, and
coats is available. BALLOONS, FLOWERS, AND SIGNS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE BUILDING. Do not pick up a
program at the door; your sponsor will have one for you. Please review the Senior graduation letter for
specific information on behavior and dress. The Senior graduation letter must be signed and turned
in to the main office, or submitted electronically, before you can participate in the ceremony.
GRADUATION PICTURES - A photographer from HR Images has been authorized to photograph each
graduate. Proofs will be mailed to your home after graduation. YOU ARE UNDER NO OBLIGATION TO
PURCHASE ANY PICTURES.
VIII.
FINAL TRANSCRIPTS
You must send your final transcript to the college that you are attending next year; this includes Harper
College as well. To complete this task, you must use the electronic transcript service, Parchment. You
created an account either last Spring, or this Fall, when you met with your counselor. Many of you have
sent transcripts using this service all school year. If you know where you are attending college next
school year, you have the ability to pre-order your final transcript RIGHT NOW. If you are still
undecided, be sure to access your Parchment account and send your transcript as soon as your
decision is finalized. If you are unsure of how to use this service, please access the Student Services
Schoology page and watch the video tutorial. Please see your counselor with any questions.
