What is Freshman Academy?
A transition initiative which:

Provides a core group of teachers who work only with Freshmen
●
Supports students academically, socially, and emotionally
●
Allows for flexible scheduling for:
○ Expeditionary learning opportunities
○ Intensives
○ Individual student remediation and acceleration
A Day in the Life of a Freshman

Meet with teacher for remediation,
acceleration and planning

integrate into BHS
culture through
electives, clubs and
activities, athletics
and school wide

“CREW” comes from the notion that we’re not
passengers in life, but rather, we are all part of
the crew. We ALL do the work to reach a
common goal!

Colleges receive the “BHS Profile” which thoroughly describes our
