We have been home to Hillingdon Musical Society for over 20 years

We have been home to Hillingdon Musical Society for over 20
years. As the Society has grown over the years we have been
privileged to be a part of the success they have achieved.
Whether it’s Tuesday nights or a week in August you can be
sure of infectious singing and drama filling the building.
The latest show which opens on Wednesday 25th March
at the Winston Churchill Hall is “Crazy for You” and our
Catering Manager, Ray Wadham is playing one of the
principal parts. Curtain up is 7.30pm and performances run
through to Saturday evening, there is also a Saturday matinee
at 2.30pm. Tickets are still available (from the Compass
Theatre Telephone 01895632000), you really should try to
get along to see an excellent production.
If you would like to get involved with the Society either on stage or in a
backstage capacity please please talk to Ray Wadham or our Minister Reg Craig.

There are always people
available to listen and
pray with you. On
Sundays look out for a
person with a red badge
who can take you to our
designated prayer room.
During the week just ask
at the office.
Annual Reports
Thank you to those leaders of Church
Departments who have sent their reports for
2014 to the Church Office already. Will the
rest of you send yours as soon as you can and
certainly by the end of March please? A plain
text email or MSWord file is ideal.
DISASTER IN VANUATU - PLEASE PRAY
Cyclone Pam is one of the worst cyclones ever to have hit the South Pacific and
has devastated the nation of Vanuatu. Last Saturday (14th) we awoke to the news
that thousands of homes had been destroyed and much of the nation was left without
power, medical aid or drinking water. It’s been one of the hardest weeks for the people
of Vanuatu since they gained independence 35 years ago. Up to half the population of
the South Pacific nation is counting the cost, Cyclone Pam, unleashed winds of up to
185 mph. Although Vanuatu has experienced disasters before, the nation’s president,
Baldwin Lonsdale, said of Cyclone Pam: ‘This is a major calamity for our country. Every
year we lose six per cent of our GDP to disasters.’
Tearfund is funding emergency aid through a group of Christian agencies called the
Integral Alliance, which are committed to working together when disasters strike. Staff
from alliance member TEAR Fund New Zealand are on the ground responding. Initial
priorities include drinking water, food and shelter.
Cressida Thompson, Tearfund’s Deputy Head of the Asia Region, said, ‘Vanuatu is
among the world’s poorest countries and this cyclone ranks as one of the worst
disasters to affect it. We are working to help people in the immediate aftermath and
examining ways to help them in the long term, through our partners.’
Please pray that emergency aid gets to those who need it as soon as possible and that
our partners can get access to Vanuatu’s outlying islands. Pray God’s blessing for TEAR
Fund’s partners as they help those whose lives have been damaged and for the swift
rebuilding of homes, schools, health facilities and roads.
Give thanks that early warning measures look to have saved many lives.
Our Catering Manager Ray Wadham is on stage at the Winston Churchill Theatre
this week in “Crazy for You” There will be a temporary chef looking after the
Dining Centre, his name is Danny Stroud. If you are in the building please say hello
to him and make him welcome. We are in need of some extra volunteers in the
Dining Centre this week, especially on Friday. If you can help please see Reg. A big
thank you needs to be expressed to those who volunteered during half-term in
response to our appeal then. THANK YOU.
