This exciting position is accountable for driving and developing FogHorn’s paradigm shifting and disruptive technology. The candidate will be a thought leader in the distributed computing and IoT space, responsible for evangelization, strategy development and deployment, as well as establishing partnerships with internal and external stakeholders in the space. The position also requires deep understanding of application hosting & management, cloud-­‐scale software systems, container based application mobility and micro-­‐service based deployment. This person will also be instrumental in providing feedback to and driving innovation into our engineering teams based on the latest industry trends. Responsibilities • Drive and develop FogHorn’s engineering • Architect the next generation distributed computing platform • Evangelize, influence, and partner with key stakeholders • Develop basic prototypes to share with stakeholders • Be a thought leader, and credible speaker at conferences, summits, and company meetings. Required Experience • Minimum of 10 years recent experience as VP of Engineering or similar senior level role overseeing and developing world class Software Development Team(s) with strong technical project management skills and prior hands on development experience in a myriad of technologies. • You are a practical visionary: defining, setting and delivering real solutions to real world problems. • Outstanding public speaking skills; known figure and credible voice in the space. • Proven experience writing blogs, white papers, articles, etc. • Experience leading and driving innovation with next generation, emerging technology. • Background building relationships with key stakeholders in the industry. • Prior experience building highly performant engineering teams • Strong working knowledge of core challenges surrounding distributed computing. • Working experience with Container based technologies. • Experience with large-­‐scale stream processing frameworks, big data analytic frameworks, and large scale distributed RDBMS. • Architectural background, you not only know how to build things and love to build them, but also enjoy talking with others about how it is built and why.
