Holmen After 5
We had a great turnout for our first Holmen After 5 of 2015! Thank you to cohosts Ryan Rugroden of Rugroden Drafting & Design and Linda O’Connell of Take 5
Productions. In addition to a fun time socializing and networking with HBA
members, we got to know a little bit more about both businesses.
Did you know that Ryan specializes in residential design and offers his clients the
ability to "walk through” the house design using a 3D graphics program? This
program helps homeowners visualize what the house will look like before it is
built.
Did you know that Linda can convert any type of old home movies to digital media
or DVD? She can also transfer video from ipads, insert videos into powerpoint
presentations, and scan those boxes of pictures you have stored in your home.
Congratulations to Tara Mayberry from Altra Credit Union and Dick Olson from
Advocare – they won the door prizes!

2015 Holmen Area Historical Society Program
HAHS invites you to attend their monthly meetings which are held the first
Wednesday of each month, beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Holmen Village Hall,
unless otherwise noted.
April 1: “Leadership and Legacy in History.” Holmen eighth graders will
present their National History Day projects on this theme. We never fail to be
impressed by the research, creativity, and poise of these top students.
May 6: “Coulee Region Ski Jumping.” Pastor Glenn Borreson will share his
research into the local history of this popular winter pastime. His article, “From
Telemark to Tamarack,” in the Wisconsin Magazine of History won critical
acclaim.
June 3: “Hear Here.” Dr. Ariel Beaujot, History Professor at UW-L, will speak
about this innovative approach to acquiring and presenting public history. Local,
personal stories at key geographic points in the La Crosse downtown become
available to passersby through toll-free numbers on street level signs.

Holmen Business Association Chicken Q
HBA and Pogy's will be cooking dinner on Wednesday, May 20 from
4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Holmen Hardware Hank parking lot. Invite
your friends and tell your neighbors to stop by for a delicious Chicken
Q dinner. HBA members will be selling tickets for $8.50 each.

We have the Ditka Spicy Polish coming in this year for the entire
