A Place For All
People, Purpose,
Accomplishment and Hope
My own personal experiences with my
grandfather shaped me tremendously
into the person I am today, and I feel so
strongly about the importance of intergenerational
relationships that it was the focus of my platform as Miss Wisconsin 2009,
“Connecting Generations.” I look forward to using this space with my own
family, and especially hope that through it, my daughter Halle will be able
to experience the benefits and joy that can be found through connecting
with other generations throughout her life.

PEOPLE
The greater Holmen area has experienced remarkable
population growth over the last two decades. Families
make up 80% of all households, with over half of these

facilities to support this growing population.
We know the need for such a facility has been essential
for the development of our community.
Municipal leaders, educators, organizations and
parents have consistently agreed the ever-growing
residential areas in and around Holmen lack a
place to go for safe, wholesome activities.
Now is the time to create a first-rate resource for
your hometown area… a place for all.

PURPOSE
• Keeping youth safe and involved
• Providing seniors/adults accessible spaces for gathering
• Offering families a place to spend quality time together
• Bringing generations together to share their gifts
I definitely think
that a Community Center
would be perfect for the community
because it just brings everyone
together.

I think it will help both generations respect each
other, because there will be opportunities to
collaborate and work together, play together,
opportunities for better health. With what I see
in the plans, it’s a
great coming
together of
minds and
people,
and anytime
you can do that
in a positive atmosphere,
it’s just a good outcome.

I think as soon as you say multigenerational,
actually the definition of that is an infinite,
ongoing community center that will continue
to serve generations and generations
and generations.

T he residents and
the Board of the
Town of Holland
have overwhelmingly
supported the
building of the
Community Center
since it was first
presented to us.
Confident of the
residents’ support
through referendum,
when the possibility
arose to move the
project forward by
shepherding the land
purchase, the Board
seized the opportunity
and voted unanimously
to purchase the land
as the foundation from
which the Community
Center project could
move forward.
