IN THOSE DAYS, those apostles who were scattered because of the persecution that arose over Stephen traveled
as far as Phoenicia and Cyprus and Antioch, speaking the word to none except Jews. But there were some of them,
men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who on coming to Antioch spoke to the Greeks also, preaching the Lord Jesus. And
the hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number that believed turned to the Lord. News of this came to the
ears of the church in Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas to Antioch. When he came and saw the grace of God, he
was glad; and he exhorted them all to remain faithful to the Lord with steadfast purpose; for he was a good man,
full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a large company was added to the Lord. So Barnabas went to Tarsus to
look for Saul; and when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. For a whole year they met with the church,
and taught a large company of people; and in Antioch the disciples were for the first time called Christians. Now in
these days prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch. And one of them named Agabos stood up and foretold
by the Spirit that there would be a great famine over all the world; and this took place in the days of Claudius. And
the disciples determined, every one according to his ability, to send relief to the brethren who lived in Judea, and
they did so, sending it to the elders by the hand of Barnabas and Saul.

THE CONFESSION OF FAITH

I believe in one God, Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all ages;
Light of Light, true God of true God, begotten, not created, of one essence with the Father through
Whom all things were made.
Who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the
Virgin Mary and became man.
He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried;

Volunteer Day
Saturday, May 16 from 9am - 12pm, Philoptochos and HOPE/JOY are sponsoring a Volunteer
Day of Service for those interested in our mission of serving God by helping others. A variety of
projects will be offered for men, women and children of all ages. This is a wonderful opportunity
to share our time and talents as a community. Please sign up in the Founders' Walk following the
Divine Services.
Graduates
Graduates or parents of graduates from high school or college this spring are asked to send an
email to the Parish Office at [email protected] with the subject line "Graduate" and
including the following information: 1. Name of person graduating; 2. School graduating from; 3.
Graduation date; 4. Future plans; 5. Names of parents; and 6. Degree information (college only).
Graduates will be recognized in an upcoming Koinonia. Information must be received by the
Parish Office no later than Sunday, May 24.
Feast Day of the Parish Luncheon
On Sunday, May 31, immediately following the Divine Services in the Founders' Walk, a luncheon
will be offered to celebrate our Parish Feastday. $15 dollars in advance for adults; $8 in advance
for children 6 and older. Children 5 years and under are free. At the door, $20 for adults and $10
for children. Parish Council is coordinating this event. RSVP in the Founders' Walk following the
Divine Services or contact Susanne in the Parish Office at 317-733-3033 or

St. Nicholas Summer Camp
July 5 - 11 in Pleasantville, Tennessee. Early registration discount is available until June 1. Online

Philoptochos End of Year Luncheon
Sunday, June 14 at 1pm at The Mansion at Oak Hill (5801 E.116th St Carmel / 116th & Hazel
Dell Parkway). Cost is $30 per person. Please make reservations following the Divine Services.
Reservation deadline is June 8 and all reservations must be honored.
Golf for Ground Zero – the Rebuilding of St. Nicholas Church
With less than 60 days until our charity golf outing on Monday afternoon, June 22, almost half of
the foursomes are filled and we are about 1/3 of the way to our sponsorship goal.
If you are a golfer, don’t miss out on this fun event that will have lots of prizes, including $10,000
and $5,000 hole-in-one contests. Get your foursome in today or if you are a single, let us know
and we will get you on a team. If you are not a golfer, consider sponsoring at one of our many
levels of sponsorship ($25-$1,200) or by donating prizes to be given away or auctioned off at the
event.

and water usage to cherish our Earth.
Suitcases Needed for Guatemala Missionaries
If you have an old suitcase that you are not using and would like to donate it to a worthy cause we
would be happy to accept it. These suitcases are used to carry down much needed supplies and
gifts for the children. In order to cut down on our expenses they will be left in Guatemala to be
used there.

GreekFest needs everyone’s help. There are many options to choose from. Stop by the Festival
table in the Founders' Walk following the Divine Liturgy to sign up for a bake session, sign up for
Friends of the Festival, Sponsor a Gyro Cone, and pick up a price sheet to place an ad in the
Festival program.
