HORIZON POINT LACEY
TIME FOR SPRING CLEANING!
After a mild and wet winter, moss has a huge head start not
only in our yards, but also on our roofs. If you haven’t already
started your lawn care regime, you may want to start now.
April is the time for growth where we enjoy spring flowers and
warmer days! To get rid of moss, you will need to put down
moss killer you can find at any hardware and grocery store.
The moss killer will turn the moss black, which you will need
to rake out of your lawn. Bare spots may be left in your yard,
which you will need to seed and add topsoil to promote healthy
growth and continued maintenance with your yard.

While parking on the street, remember to not leave your garage door opener or valuables in the car.
Don’t leave notes on your door announcing when you will be
home. When possible take the time to coordinate with
friends, family and delivery companies effectively.
Keep shrubbery trimmed to eliminate hidden areas
Prior to leaving your home, make sure all windows and
doors are securely closed and reinforced.
Remember to close your garage door. While working in your
yard or around the house, don’t leave your garage door open
if it’s not visible from where your are. Leaving the garage
door open allows potential intruders to see items they might
like to take..
To request a Vacation House Check: Submit in person at City of Lacey Police Department or
complete the VHC Form online at:

Children at Play
Please proceed through the community cautiously
With the increased better weather and spring break recess, children will be outside playing.
Parent’s please remind your children not run out into the street, between cars, or on or near
the train tracks. Potential dangers increase if drivers are in a hurry or distracted which may
cause them to not see your children. We can all do our part to increase safety in our
community. By educating and reminding your children of street safety; proper supervision;
and driver awareness we can limit the chances of potentially serious accidents.
