Starts at Home Contest
Participate in our Starts at Home Contest. April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month and we
want you to join our movement! Share your ideas in stopping child abuse through our door
decorating contest.
Enter your class/group in our Door Decorating Contest by April 20th for a chance to win an ice
cream sundae party! The winning decorated door will also be posted on our website, social media,
and reaching thousands of people. The winner will be determined by a committee of judges at
Human Options.
How to enter:
1. Entry is free, no cost or fees apply.
2. Participating classes, groups, or organizations must be of elementary age (ages 5-10 years old)
with at least one adult.
3. Displays should be based on the Child Abuse Prevention theme.
4. There may not be more than 40 people participating per class/organization.
5. Participants must send a photo of their decorated doors by 5pm on Monday, April 20, 2015 to
[email protected].
6. Entries must not contain any foul language, cruelty to humans or animals, sexual behavior/
images, and nudity. The entry must not include elements of racism or discrimination. Any entries
containing material deemed offensive by the judging committee will be immediately disqualified.
Judging criteria will include:
a. Implementation of the theme of child abuse prevention and Human Options
b. Originality and creativity
c. Overall appearance and quality of work
d. Following all guidelines and deadlines
How the winner will be chosen:
Judging will take place from April 21st to April 23rd. The chosen door wins the grand prize of a hosted
Ice Cream Sundae Party for their class or organization. The winning door will be announced on
Human Options social media pages (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram) on April 24th.
