The team fee for the season is $225 per player. The fee covers the team water polo suit, team caps,
team clothing, team memory book, and the end of season player gift. There will be an additional cost of

General Information:
Fundraising
There are many costs associated with running our team. The Huron Athletic Department provides coach’s
salaries, and practice facilities. Our team fee covers individual player expenses. However, the team
incurs many other necessary costs such as tournament entry fees and upkeep / replacement of equipment
such as balls, numbered players’ caps, goals, lane lines, and software / hardware needed to run the game
and shot clocks. Each year our team must generate income beyond the team fees to pay these additional
expenses. We do this through setting a fundraising goal that we hope each player will be able to
meet. This year the fundraising goal is $100 per player, and it can be achieved through a combination of
fundraising sales activities and / or personal donation. Thank you in advance for the effort you will put
into helping to keep the team finances healthy and stable through your fundraising efforts!
Booster Club
If you have not done so please consider joining the Booster Club. The Booster Club provides
administrative support for all athletic activities at Huron so it is an important resource for all teams. When
more than 50% of our team’s families join the Booster Club, we are eligible to receive a special cash back
incentive for that year. In addition, high Booster Club participation gives our team priority in choosing
dates for Booster Club concessions fundraising opportunities at Huron sporting events and University of
Michigan football games. Membership information is available
at http://www.a2huron.org/huron.boosters/booster_club_home
Parent Volunteers
Parents are asked to assist the team in many ways. We need volunteers to provide breakfast after morning
practices, drive to out of county games and tournaments, provide food for the hospitality room during
home tournaments, and work the scoring table during home games and tournaments. The sign up links
for these jobs are at the “Volunteers” page at http://huronwomenswaterpolo.weebly.com There are
also additional jobs or “Special Projects” that we need help with; these jobs include filming of key varsity
games, photographing all games, helping with the memory book, writing press releases, managing the
Cookie Dough fundraiser, etc. Please review the “Special Projects” Signup Genius link to review team
needs. Each family is asked to sign up for at least one Special Project assignment.
Practice and Game Schedules
The season will begin on Monday March 9th. Morning practices will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays, and
Thursdays from 6am -7 am. After school practices will be held every weekday afternoon from 3:30pm to
6:00 pm. The game schedule consists of weekday evening JV / Varsity games against a single opponent
and weekend tournaments involving many teams and several games. Updates to the practice and /or
game schedules will be communicated via email. Visit the team website
http://huronwomenswaterpolo.weebly.com to view the tentative upcoming season schedule, Sign
Up Genius links and to obtain a pdf of the Parent/Player Information Form. As the season nears, we will
use the website to provide team updates as well.
School Attendance Policy for Game/Tournament Participation
Any unexcused absence from school on a game day, even if it is for just one class, is a disqualification
from the competition for that day. If there is a Friday absence the disqualification carries over to
Saturday. If the student has an appointment outside of school (doctor or dentist appt, college visit,
etc,) on the day of a competition, they will still be eligible to participate as long as they notify the Athletic
Office one day in advance and provide confirmation of the appointment after it is completed, and have
their absence called in by parents to the attendance office. For other absences excused by parents on the
day of a competition, the student must attend more than 50% of their classes to be eligible to
participate. All absences must be called in to the attendance office to be excused. If the student is unable
to attend more than 50% of their classes on Friday, they will not be eligible to compete on either Friday or
Saturday. Please carefully review the schedule and notify Coach Justin if you determine that your
student has any conflicts. In addition, if extenuating circumstances present themselves during the season,
please contact Coach Justin to resolve any attendance questions.
Team Travel
Athletes are responsible for their own transportation to games and tournaments in Washtenaw
County. For other away games, players will be driven by parent volunteers. Athletes are expected to
travel with the team for all out of county events unless arrangements are made in advance with the coach.
The cost of each overnight tournament will be $25 per player.
