Dataflex Telemetry for Remote Tank Monitoring HYC-DF Jr1113 DATAFLEX WEB-ENABLED REMOTE MONITORING HYCONTROL DATAFLEX The Hycontrol DATAFLEX range of controllers provide easy, efficient and reliable data acquisition over a wide range of level control applications. These units can be installed on a new or existing site to operate with any Hycontrol level controller and can be configured either locally or remotely via a PC with the aid of DATAFLEX software. This system is suitable for numerous applications including remote level monitoring of liquids and solids in any tank, vessel or silo and with the option for alarm relays to trigger external telemetry systems in remote areas. APPLICATION FLEXIBILITY • Remotely monitor virtually any instrumentation from any manufacturer from any location. • Monitors LEVEL, PRESSURE, FLOW, TEMPERATURE, PH, CONDUCTIVITY • Multiple users can access the same information and a choice of options Allows different levels of security access. ADVANTAGES OF DATAFLEX Affordable and Flexible Hycontrol’s Dataflex enables you to quickly and easily address a range of remote monitoring and alarming applications using low cost hardware. Four Configurable Inputs The 4 inputs can work with a range of sensors, meters and other signals giving a high degree of flexibility. Integral Display The integral back lit display means the device can be used to show the readings locally, as well providing an easy way for the user to easily configure and interrogate the unit. Self Powered Hycontrol’s Dataflex can operate from it’s own internal battery, even providing power to the sensors, or you can connect an external power source such as a solar cell. Low Cost Operation The quad-band GSM modem gives global operation and low cost GPRS data transfer. Low Installation Costs It’s quick and easy to install and there’s no need for qualified electricians. Data Logging The unit can store 1,500 readings each with a time and data stamp Expandable The unit has an in-built expansion port - Different options are available including a 5 channel pulse/digital board. 4 Configurable Inputs USB-B port, Battery Powered & Solar Powered Quad-band GSM/GPRS modem APPLICATIONS FOR ALL INDUSTRIES QUARRY WATER & WASTE PROCESS 2 CHEMICAL FOOD 3 WAYS TO POWER DATAFLEX SYSTEM SOLAR POWER SYSTEM · Connect up to 2 solar cells · Intelligent regulation, maximising battery life · Temperature compensated · Easy interface for sensors · Option to monitor battery voltage on input 4 · Pulse charging to help recover from low battery voltages · LED indication of status · Simple battery replacement MAINS POWER SYSTEM · 110 to 230 Vac input · Battery back · Option to monitor supply voltage on input 4, therefore Capable of providing 'mains fail' alarm · Easy interface for sensors · Simple battery replacement EXTERNALLY POWERED SYSTEM · 6 to 24 Vdc input · Battery back · Option to monitor supply voltage on input 4 POWER REGULATOR BOARD FOR USE WITH A DATAFLEX This circuit board provides flexibility allowing the Dataflex be easily connected to solar cells, external power sources and mains power supplies (when used in conjunction with additional parts). It ensures efficient and intelligent battery charging, helping you get the most out of your solar system. Inputs: 2 x solar cells (max of 10 watt each) 12Vdc from external power source (Not to be used in conjunction with solar cell) Screw terminals for 4 input connections (for the Dataflex inputs) Outputs: To 6 volt lead acid battery with intelligent charging capabilities Power to the Dataflex (6 volts maintained (for Dataflex)). 3 · Connect either solar cells or external power sources · Maximise battery life and solar charging potential · Pre-charge conditioning if the battery is in poor condition it helps to bring the battery back to life · Temperature compensation the charge rate is adjusted according to the temperature of the battery. This means the battery is always charged at he toptimal rate, maximising the battery life. · Ability to monitor battery voltage on input4 of the Dataflex switch selectable. · LED indication (with test pushbutton) for battery status and DC in. Ensuring that product arrives in a timely way is essential to modern JIT manufacturing. For the supplier of the bulk products the emphasis is on the delivery logistics. For the user however it is imperative to maintain adequate stock to satisfy production demand. When connected to Hycontrol level Instrumentation Dataflex provides reliable inventory monitoring which can provide significant cost savings for both suppliers and customers alike. Typical advantages of using Dataflex are : • Improved response times for deliveries • Continuity of supply • Improved vehicle and driver utilisation • Improved delivery logistics • Better delivery scheduling • Reduction in product returns • Better utilisation of company resources • Reduced Wastage POWER SUPPLIES AND CONSUMPTION The choice of power source needs to suit your application. You can either use an internal lithium battery, an external 5 to 24 V DC power source, it could be solar, wind or a 110/230 V AC to 6-24V DC power supply. The supply needs to be regulated and capable of delivering a peak of 0.5A. The power consumption will vary depending on how the unit is programmed. If powering from the internal battery then be sure to configure the ‘modem power scheme’ as ‘power off between transmit events.’ Please consult Hycontrol for advice on how long the battery will last in your application. 4 HYCONTROL LEVEL TECHNOLOGIES (2) (1) (3) Product Range For Solids :- (4) (5) (1) TDR Radar For Solids (2) Ultrasonic, ‘Through Air’ (2) 2 Wire Ultrasonic Transmitter (6) (3) FMCW 2 Wire Radar (4) Continuous ‘Servo’ Level Indicator (7) (5) FMCW 2 Wire Radar (8) (6) Capacitance Level Switch (9) (9) (7) Vibrating Probe Level Switch (8) Rotating Paddle Level switch (9) Microwave Level Switch (10) (10) Doppler Flow Switch Product Range For Liquids :- (4) (1) By-Pass Level Indicator With Radar (2) (2) TDR Radar For Liquids (3) 2 Wire Ultrasonic Transmitter (3) (5) (6) (7) (1) (4) FMCW ‘Horn’ Radar 2 Wire (5) Magnetic Float Switches (8) (6) FMCW 2 Wire Radar (9) (10) (7) Foam Level Switch (11) (8) Capacitance Level Switch (9) RF Admittance Level Switch (11) (10) Side Mounting 316 SS Float Switch (11) Tuning Fork Level Switch (11) Tuning Fork Level Switch (12) Ultrasonics ‘Through Wall’ (13) (12) (13) Mini Magnetic Float Level Switch Hycontrol Ltd, Larchwood House, Orchard Street, Redditch, Worcestershire, England, B98 7DP Tel : 01527 406800, Fax : 01527 406810, [email protected], www.hycontrol.com
