HydraMaster approves entire Slide-In Truckmount Line for installation into the New
Ford Transit Van without the use of sub-frame
Following a detailed investigation, HydraMaster has determined that their full line of slide-in truckmounts is approved for
installation into the Ford Transit van by an authorized HydraMaster Distributor. Due to the unique design and layout of the
HydraMaster frame, HydraMaster engineers, working in conjunction with specific directions and parameters provided by the
Ford Motor company, have determined exactly where HydraMaster slide-in truckmounts can be installed in a Ford Transit to
best utilize and maximize van floor space, as well as avoid all defined “no-drill” zones as defined by Ford Motor Company.
After installing every model of truckmount into the Ford Transit it was determined that all HydraMaster slide-in
truckmounts can be safely and effectively installed in accordance with their stringent requirements without the use
or need for any sub-frame. The only requirement will be the use of a special set of mounting bolts and cleat washers,
which will be provided to distributors for a Ford Transit installation. Detailed installation procedures and requirements are
being provided to authorized HydraMaster Distributors.
The exception to this lies with customers who wish to install a “sub-mount” fresh water tank underneath their HydraMaster
Slide-In Truckmount, whether it is the 70, 85, or 120 gallon versions from HydraMaster, or from another manufacturer. The
use of a sub-mount freshwater tank will require a special sub-frame, which will be available to all HydraMaster distributors in
May.
This information only applies to the Ford Transit van. The smaller Ford Transit Connect van, starting in 2015, does not come
with a high enough payload rating from Ford that would allow for most truckmount installations that included even the
smallest, lightest unit.
