THE AIMS
OF THE CONFERENCE
The aims of the Conference is the establishment of a regular-basis scientific platform at St. Petersburg State
University to
1. debate on the problems of hydrology and its future development;
2. synthesize new approaches in hydrological studies and broaden their use in applied tasks;
3. overcome the fragmentation of scientific schools and hydrological community of Russia and the world through the
establishment of the Russian Society of Hydrology and identification its priority areas of activity;
4. support students and young scientists who are responsible for the development of science and its effective use for
the benefit of people in the future;
5. discuss the issues of education and personnel training in the field of hydrology.
SCIENTIFIC SESSIONS
1. The mechanisms and music of runoff formation processes. The instruments of their studies.
2. Hydrological forms and sculpture. Paintings of erosion.
3. Ecological and poetical aspects of hydrology and water quality.
4. The choreography of hydrological hazards.
5. The philosophy and methodology of hydrology.
6. The craft of hydrology. Applied problems and their solutions.

SCHOOL
OF HYDROLOGICAL
MODELLING
School of hydrological modelling for young scientists, students and PhD students will be conducted after the
conference (22-28 November, 2015). It will include the lectures of Russian and foreign scientists and practical
courses on several hydrological models. The program and the list of lectors are under clarification.

YURY VINOGRADOV HYDROLOGICAL AWARD
Yury Vinogradov Hydrological Award is established in recognition of the scientific achievements of Yury Vinogradov. It will be awarded to young
scientists, PhD and students for outstanding scientific contributions in fundamental and applied research that improves our knowledge of hydrology.
The procedure of awarding is being specified.
