and enable you to look and feel 100%.
HOW TO ACT
HOW TO ACT
My body language is open and welcoming:
all of my clients feel welcome.
My smile is my greatest asset, I make sure
everyone around me benefits.
How can I show the person I am speaking
to that they have my full attention? I look
at them :) I make sure that my attitude is
positive, it’s more pleasant for all of our
guests. I remain natural, it makes it easier
to interact with guests.
WHAT TO DO
Nothing gets past me; I keep an eye on
everything that’s going on around me. I
show our guests that I am interested in
them. Keeping things simple helps me
maintain a warm and lasting relationship
with our guests. I listen to guests carefully,
what they say is
important. Respect is a basic rule that I
apply in to my relationships with all of our
guests and my colleagues. I always ensure
our guests have everything they need,
that’s the secret to making sure they
come back! I make sure our guests are
informed of all the hotel’s services. I can’t
be caught out
WHAT TO SAY
I always speak to guests in an appropriate
manner that is both professional and
understandable. To give the best
welcome, I keep the three golden words
in mind: Good morning/afernoon/evening
– Welcome – Enjoy your stay/meal, etc.
If I know a guest’s name, I make sure
that I address them by name. I am polite
with everyone at all times. I greet all of
our guests when I pass them and I don’t
forget to say goodbye to those leaving.
Episode 1:
Being bright first
thing in the morning
TO GET A GOOD
NIGHTS SLEEP
TO AVOID WAKING UP ON THE
WRONG SIDE OF THE BED
Make sure you choose A good bed.
A three-step method:
Sleep with your head against the wall,
never against the window.
Drink three large mouthfuls of water
when you wake up.
The ideal temperature to get a good
night’s sleep is 17°C.
Lie down and stretch gently
Stretch one arm and the opposite leg
at the same time.
Avoid watching television or using a
computer just before you go to bed:
The light from the screen increases
brain activity and keeps you awake. It
slows down your ability to fall asleep.
Drink hot water mixed with lemon
juice before you eat anything.
Episode 2:
Keeping your back in sync
Did you know? Good posture is the basis for good health. It
helps you to breathe better and to move around more easily.
Maintaining good posture means not hunching your back! Is
your posture correct? Check in the mirror!
Stand up straight in front of a mirror at the same level. Your
shoulders, hips and knees should be aligned and your head
straight.
Imagine a line that runs from your ear, to your shoulder, hip,
knee and ankle. This vertical line must be straight.
Hold in your stomach by raising your navel upwards. Hold this
position for 10 seconds. Repeat this exercise five times.
Episode 3:
The voice says it all
Did you know that in 38% of cases, people determine in
the first two minutes of a conversation if they like you or
not. Focus on your voice! Some practical advice:
Read a small text out loud with a pencil placed between
your teeth It will force you to articulate your words better.
Breathe out from the stomach when you talk.
Repeat this “magic” sentence two or three times in quick
succession, without stumbling on your words, - adapt it according to your language. “I want and I demand
exquisite excuses”.
Episode 4:
Saved by the Zen!
Did you know? You can achieve the same benefits
that you get from taking a nap by just a few minutes of
controlled breathing.
Explore your body mentally” with “concentrate on each
part of your body in turn”
Focus your gaze on a point opposite you or simply close
your eyes.
Breathe in and out quickly several times. While you are
breathing out, concentrate on each part of your body in
turn: start from your right foot up to your brain then down
again to your left foot.
Finish by taking a deep, calm, long breath. Free your mind
of all thoughts other than that of relaxing. (3 mins, 3 times
a day if possible)

Episode 5:
Get with the perfume
Did you know? It is possible to tackle perspiration:
If you tend to perspire a lot, use a roll-on or a stick rather
than a spray. If it’s really hot, avoid drinking very hot or
very cold drinks.
Practical tips for keeping your breath fresh
Brush your teeth carefully after each meal, and don’t forget
your tongue and gums.
Use mouthwash. Ask your dentist for advice. Avoid eating
garlic, onion, spices or drinking alcohol; reduce your tobacco
consumption and drink plenty of water.
Other stop-gap solutions include mouth sprays, lozenges and
other capsules that act fast but have a short-term effect.
Tips from the pros!
Chew two cardamom or coriander seeds or a leaf of fresh
mint. Apply a drop of lavender essential oil to your tongue
from time to time. It gets rid of bad breath and helps
digestion. Rinse your mouth with a mixture of water and
bicarbonate of soda and drink a small bit. Bicarbonate
eliminates any bad smells.
Episode 6:
Leg work
Did you know? Walking for 20 minutes at a fast pace improves circulation and stimulates the veins in the soles of
your feet and your calves.
A few tips:
Avoid warm baths and sources of heat against your legs.
Raise the foot of your bed by roughly 10 cm. Yours legs will
thank you!
Wear comfortable shoes with flexible, thick soles (avoid
wearing heels that measure more than 4cm as they change
your balance). Avoid socks made from synthetic material to
prevent perspiring.
Change your shoes every day (alternate between pairs to let
them breathe)
Tips from the pros: anti-perspiration foot-bath
Boil a saucepan of water for 10 minutes in which you have
placed 2 or 3 tea bags and a sprig of thyme.
Pour the mixture into a bowl
Allow to cool sufficiently so that you do not burn your feet.
Soak your feet for 30 minutes.
Carry out this treatment regularly to control perspiration
Episode 7:
Use with care
Shaving
Electric razors: These are particularly
recommended for sensitive skin as the blades
are not in direct contact with the skin.
Razor blades, some practical tips:
Avoid shaving twice in the same day.
Don’t shave as soon as you get up.
Follow these steps for a smooth shave!
1.Start by softening the hair with a warm,
damp towel.
(Dermatologists’ advice: shave while in the bath or
in the shower)
2.Shave in the direction of hair growth and not in
the opposite direction.
3.Start shaving in slow, short stages, from the ears
downwards and applying constant pressure.
4.After shaving, use a soft, clean towel to pat your
face dry without rubbing your skin so as not to
irritate it.
5.If your skin is dry and sensitive, apply a shaving
balm. If your skin is greasy, apply a fragrance-free
aftershave lotion.
Makeup
Natural make-up is the art of wearing make-up
without looking as though you are!
Some practical advice:
Use a tinted moisturiser and a light foundation.
Apply the necessary coverage (under the eyes,
imperfections, etc.).
Use some light blusher on your cheeks to create a
healthy glow.
Then apply some mascara to highlight your look.
Lastly, apply a clear or very light gloss to your lips
to add some volume and shine.
Tips from the pros:
- Always check the result in daylight. This will avoid
any bad surprises.
- The rule to respect: either you accentuate your
eyes or your lips, but not both at the same time!
- A healthy glow: The matt skin mask: in a bowl,
mix 4 soup spoons of powdered green clay, 1 soup
spoon of lemon juice and 1 soup spoon of honey.
Bind the mixture with some crème fraiche. Apply to
your face and leave to work for 20 minutes.
- Cure for tired eyes: Apply cucumber slices or wet
tea bags to swollen eyelids and leave to work for
15 minutes. To soothe puffy eyes first thing in the
morning, run an ice-cube over your eyelids.
Thankyou!
