nominal fee will be charged.
Submission Details
Authors are requested to submit soft copy of the full Paper in
word document (maximum 6 pages or maximum 1800 words) as
per the conference manuscript format (refer conference
website) on or before 21-08-2015 to the following mail id
[email protected] Selection will be intimated through
email. Papers selected for the presentation will be published in
conference proceedings and selected papers will be published
in an international journal of repute after peer review.

ABOUT THE INSTITUTE AND DEPARTMENT
National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK), Surathkal,
formerly known as Karnataka Regional Engineering College (KREC),
Surathkal is one of the institutes of national importance in India
funded by Ministry of Human Recourses and Development,
Government of India. Since its inception in the year 1960 as KREC
Surathkal, the College established itself as a premier institution
engaged in imparting good quality technical education involving good
teaching – learning practices and sound research & development
activities, as well as testing & consultancy services.
The Department of Chemical Engineering of the institute was started
in the year 1965 with Professor M G Subba Rau as its Founder Head
of the Department. With his practical and innovative mind, Professor
Rau laid a solid foundation to build a very good Department to make
competent professionals graduating from the institution. A well
balanced curriculum having theory and practice, good infrastructure,
well qualified faculty have been the hall mark of the Department since
its inception. When the institution was transformed from KREC to
NITK, in order to keep pace with the changing needs, a lot of
additional infrastructure has been built utilizing funds available from
several funding agencies.
The Department offers an undergraduate program in Chemical
Engineering(since its inception) and three post graduate programs
with specializations in Chemical Plant Design(since 1972), Industrial
Pollution Control(since 1994) and Industrial Biotechnology (since
2007). In addition, M.Tech (Research) and Doctoral programmes are
offered. The Department also offers product testing and industrial
consultancy. The alumni of the Department are well placed in
profession both in India and abroad. Recently the B.Tech. Chemical
Engineering program has received maximum award of five year of
accreditation by National Board of Accreditation under Tier-I format.
ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
After completing fifty glorious years in imparting good quality
Chemical Engineering Education, the Department enters an
important milestone of Golden Jubilee Year. ICACE -2015 is being
organized to commemorate this milestone. In the recent past
Chemical Engineering as a discipline has been diversifying into
several frontier areas and this conference will address the advances
in core Chemical Engineering as well as allied fields through invited
lectures by researchers of National and International repute and
dissemination of latest research in the form of paper presentation
with participation from academia, research organization and
Industry.
