Welcome!
Welcome to the 2015 school year and a particularly warm welcome to all the
new families starting at the College. We look forward to meeting you and
seeing you at the many events the Parents and Friends Committee will be
organising throughout the year.
For those new to the College, or maybe a gentle reminder for everyone else,
the P&F is a voluntary organisation run by an energetic and fun group of
parents that support the College in the promotion of generosity, community
and hospitality. Through the hosting of events and fundraising initiatives all
monies raised is donated to the College for various core projects, as guided to
the P&F by the Senior Leadership members of College staff.
Hillary Clinton has said that “it takes a village to
raise a child” and the P&F’s version of that is “it
takes a community to create a Fair”.
Fairs and Fetes are very different from the ones we
may have enjoyed when we were young and at
school. No longer is it possible to purchase the
delicious homemade jams and hand knitted baby
items - and communities change too. The frantic
pace of life often makes it difficult to find time
beyond the immediate tasks of work and family, let
alone consider volunteering. However, our past
Fairs have proven that this event is a much loved
one with many people willing to commit to the
success of it. We are in no doubt that 2015 will once
again be the “Best Fair Ever”!

offer your assistance or ideas in readiness for the

We warmly welcome parents of the School’s community from IEY to the Senior
School and not forgetting the Junior School in the middle! If you would like to
undertake an active role in your child’s school, either as a member of the
Committee or as a volunteer at our events, please feel welcome to contact

The above events are the “biggies” for the year. Throughout 2015 we
hope to offer to you other social gatherings in celebration of Mother’s
Day, Father’s Day and the Melbourne Cup – just to name a few!

find out further information about everything and anything!
