2011. Pulses will be racing in Melbourne this January as
Burlesque Royale brings a stellar cast of international burlesque superstars to The
Palms at Crown on Friday 28 January. With the 8pm show selling out in minutes, a
second show has now gone on sale for 11.30pm that night with no further extension
possible.
With a role call of international award winning performers hailing from London to Las
Vegas, Burlesque Royale finally brings the art-form of burlesque out of small clubs and
onto the grand theatrical stage, recalling burlesque’s Hollywood golden era of the
1950s.
Burlesque Royale stars Immodesty Blaize, Europe’s showgirl who won the ‘Reigning
Queen of Burlesque’ title in 2007. Her bombshell looks and breathtaking performances
are in demand internationally, across London, New York, Hollywood, Cannes and Las
Vegas. A well known media personality she has graced magazines and TV shows the
world over. Behind the camera she produced internationally acclaimed cinema documentary ‘Burlesque Undressed’ which was aired in over
30 countries. A bestselling novelist, her second novel ‘Ambition’ hit book shelves in October 2010.
Also featuring for the first time in Australia, Kalani Kokonuts (US) – (Miss Exotic World 2009) Hailing from the bright lights and fabulous
feathers of Las Vegas Nevada, this Polynesian Princess’ is a true showgirl at heart. Michelle L’Amour (US) – (Miss Exotic World 2004) Known
as ‘The Ass That Goes Pow’ she holds a special place in David Hasselhoffs heart after her Knight Rider Striptease on America’s Got Talent.
Perle Noire (US) – (New Orleans Queen of Burlesque 2009) She takes her cues for the legendary Josephine Baker, tearing up the stage in
an onslaught of shimmies, high kicks, splits – and even a few flips!
Also featuring Australian artists Danica Lee, Holly J’aDoll, Kelly Ann Doll, Lauren La Rouge, Mada Vs. Vegas – The Dueling Magicians.
Hosted by the enigmatic Supergirly (LuLu McClatchy), Burlesque Royale is set to take its audience on a wild ride with tongues set firmly in
cheek.
