BACKGROUND
With the growing number of families in Muslin
Communities of North York, there is an urgent need
for proper facilities and community centres to serve
the young families as well as senior citizens living in
Toronto. The current centre at 26 LePage court has
been utilized beyond its capacity. In meeting this
increasing demand, the Imdadul Islamic Jamaat (IIJ)
has responded by a new mandate to establish an
Annex to the existing building. The board of
overseers who has been elected for this purpose has
initiated to proceed with the purchase of another
property to serve the community.

26 LEPAGE COURT, TORONTO
IIJ has consequently located a suitable property right
next door, an industrial building at 30 LePage Court
to be annexed to the current centre. The acquisition
of this building addresses a long awaited facility to
serve the growing need of the community in North
York. While the site area is 30000 square feet, this
one-storey, detached brick building provides an
approximately 12000 square feet of additional
building area with high ceilings and good lighting.

VISION
IIJ is planning to pursue a master planning concept
for the combined two properties. However, in the
interim time, IIJ is pleased to announce plans to offer
the following programs with the intension of
providing other additional services in response to
future community needs.

Tafseer for men, women and children
Social and counselling services
Library and reading room
Community Hall
Gymnasium

Child care and other related support services to
young families and women.

The cost of this transaction is only a fraction of the
overall costs. The funds needed to create a
specifically designed building for our purpose is
expected to be formidable, but not a challenge that
we can not overcome with the help of everyone. It
is, therefore, imperative to consider this project
same as yours. We must give it our complete
commitment with money, time and labour, and we
will have fulfilled our duty to ourselves and to Allah.
