L’Imperatrice Hong Kong is offering a unique pyramid of C hateau
Mouton Rothschild comprising 150 bottles of different rare sizes
for sale.
Hong Kong – 28 April 2015: L’Imperatrice Ltd is proud to present the most
valuable single wine lot ever put on sale, a collection of the most coveted wine in
the world: Chateau Mouton Rothschild. This exclusive collection of vinous brilliance
includes a Magnum vertical, a Jeroboam vertical, a 75cl bottle vertical, one
nebuchadnezzar, a rare 75cl bottle from 1924, and features a selection of the
outstanding vintages of 1986, 1982, 1959, and 1945.
As Julien Froger, Director at L’Imperatrice, remarked: “We are thrilled to
introduce this important wine pyramid to the world. Its rarity and the exceptional
condition of the bottles make it an excisite piece for collectors. The levels and
appearance of the bottles are excellent and we rarely see a Nebuchadnezzar
Chateau Mouton Rothschild 2000 on the market. We expect a lot of interest from
people all over the world as the Chateau produced only 8 of them!
The earliest wines in this refined set date back from Baron Philippe de Rothschild’s
epoch, with verticals starting in 1945. From his death in 1988 and his daughter
Philippine’s official recognition as head of the house in 1989, Mouton has continued
as a star in the firmament, making astonishing, ultra desirable wines that are soughtafter on every continent.
The verticals offered by L’Imperatrice today have been assembled by one single
private collector over a period of 6 years. This unique lot includes all vintages from
the well-know Artist Series starting in 1945, but it also combines two rare labels of
the vintage 1993 (naked and non-naked lady painted by the artist Balthus) and 1978
(small and large circles). It is also important to note that the large format 15L bottle
is rare, and its serial number has been checked against the Chateau’s records to
prove their authenticity.

THE C ABINET
This rare collection also includes the tailor-made Chateau Mouton Rothschild wine
cabinet made of Sycamore wood. All Mouton Rothschild’s labels artists names from
1924 are engraved on the top and front doors of the cabinet. Designed and
masterfully crafted by French artist Ludovic Avenel, this unique piece is an elegant
accessory that will add value and grandeur to the wine collection.
Ludovic Avenel is established in Paris and is now one of the most distinguished
cabinet-maker of his time. He was recognized “Talent d’Exception” by the
Bettencourt Schueller Foundation in 2007. For more information about the artist:

! Since release of the 2000 vintage, only 2 Nebuchadnezzars sold at
an auction: one at Sotheby’s in New-York city in 2007, the second one in Hong
Kong this year for 918,750 HKD.
! The tailor- made Avenel cabinet can be placed anywhere at home or in an
office, and enables the collector to keep the wines at perfect temperature thanks to
a built-in Eurocave® wine refrigerator. Ludovic Avenel worked closely with the
