Kombi Sorting System KSS® – The Sensor Solution

The Kombi Sorting System KSS® family
The Steinert colour sorting system detects and separates bulk
materials by surface colour differences. The colour sorting system
is much more sensitive to colour and brightness differences than
the human eye. The new modular structure of the Kombi Sorting
System KSS® combines laser technology into the colour sorting
system. The 3D laser recognizes the position and size of the
particles to be separated with millimetre precision. The criteria
for the system are therefore extended to colour, brightness and
particle size and shape.
Single or multiple items of information acquired by the combination
of various sensors enable a wide range of applications. Minerals
sorted by colour or other optical properties for example, or cable
and circuit boards from e-Scrap, or airbag ejection detonators
detected by their unique shape from aluminium scrap.
ELECTROMAGNETIC recognition
The new modular structure of the Kombi Sorting System
KSS® enables additional material properties to be recognized
and exploited by means of adding other sensors, such as the
induction sensor.
