Waiver of Negligence & Complete
Release of Liability
I wish to participate in the 2015 Team Running Strong marathon team. I understand in participating, I will be
using public streets and facilities in Virginia and the District of Columbia where hazards may exist and I am
aware of and appreciate the risks that may result. I am also aware that accidents can occur during road running
and that I may be seriously injured or killed as a result. I am voluntarily participating in 2015 Team Running
Strong with knowledge of the dangers involved and I agree to accept any and all risks of injury or death. In
consideration for being permitted to participate in 2015 Team Running Strong, I agree to assume all risks and to
release and hold harmless 2015 Team Running Strong, Running Strong for American Indian Youth®, parent
organization Christian Relief Services Charities, Inc. and their agents, licensees, affiliates and employees. I
intend by this Waiver and Release to release in advance, and to waive my rights and discharge all of the persons
and entities mentioned above, from any and all claims for damages for death, personal injury or property
damage which I may have, or which may hereafter accrue to me as a result of my participation in 2015 Team
Running Strong. I understand and agree that this Waiver and Release is binding on my heirs, successors,
assigns, and legal representatives.
I verify that I have full knowledge of the rigors and risk involved in participation in 2015 Team Running
Strong. I am physically fit and capable of participating in 2015 Team Running Strong, and my medical care
provider has approved my participation. If I am aware of or under treatment for any physical infirmity, ailment
or illness, my medical care provider knows of and has approved my participation in 2015 Team Running
Strong. I acknowledge that I, and I alone, am solely responsible for my personal health and safety, and the
personal property I bring with me to the Marine Corps Marathon. I will read the description and guidelines
for participation in 2015 Team Running Strong and will abide by any rules and regulations established by 2015
Team Running Strong organizers and personnel as well as the laws of Virginia, District of Columbia, and any
other state in which I intend to train.
I also acknowledge full and sole responsibility for my own medical expenses and I am responsible for any and
all medical expenses incurred on my behalf. I grant permission to Running Strong for American Indian Youth®,
to photograph and videotape me in the course of my preparation for and participation in the Marine Corps
Marathon event. I understand that my name, photograph, voice or likeness may be used by 2015 Team Running
Strong, Running Strong for American Indian Youth®, parent organization Christian Relief Services Charities,
Inc, and their agents, licensees, affiliates and employees for purposes in any media. I consent to and authorize,
in advance, such use and waive my rights of privacy I have in connection therewith.
I have carefully read this Waiver and Release and fully understand its contents. If I am under 18 years of age at
the time of registration, my parent or legal guardian has completely reviewed this Waiver and Release,
understands and consents to its terms, and authorizes my participation by his/her signature below. I am aware
that this is a RELEASE OF LIABILITY and a contract between me and the persons and entities mentioned
above and all of their respective officers, directors, employees, agents and representatives and I sign of my own
free will. Failure to sign this Waiver and Release will disqualify me from participating in 2015 Team Running
Strong without entitling me to any refund.
