We, the undersigned, in consideration of my participation in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Indianapolis, do hereby release and forever discharge the Indy Sports Foundation, Inc., Sequence, Inc. and the City of Indianapolis and its elected officials, the officers, directors, employees, volunteers, partners and contractors of each of these entities; jointly and severally, from any and all liability related to any and all personal injury, illness, death, property damage or other occurrence which I may suffer in any manner whatsoever arising out of, or resulting from, participation in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Indianapolis. We expressly assume ALL risks of my participation in the Parade, including, without limitation, injury as a result of the acts of omission to any of the above named parties, or some defect in or on the City’s property, whether caused by negligence or otherwise, except for illness and injury resulting directly from the gross negligence or intentional misconduct on the part of Indy Sports Foundation, Inc. and I (We) agree to indemnify, save, hold harmless and defend the Indy Sports Foundation & Sequence, Inc. and its officials, officers, directors, employees, volunteers, partners and contractors, of and from any and all loss, damages, expenses, costs, judgments, and attorney’s fees arising out of or resulting from my participation in the Parade. Approved objects may be handed out by units but ABSOLUTELY nothing can be thrown. • No Political Promotion of any kind. • The ISF and the Parade Committee has the right to decline a parade entry for any reason at any time at its sole discretion Regulations: • Items distributed during the parade: → Any item that will be passed out or distributed on the parade route must be approved by the Parade Committee → No advertising/ logos/ business promotional items are to be handed out on the parade route unless they are a Sponsor of the parade and the items are approved by the Parade Committee at least one week prior to the parade. • No political promotion in the parade. → The ISF is a 501c3 non-profit and does not endorse any political candidate or party or political issue → Existing officeholders are invited to march in the parade to represent the office that they hold, but cannot promote themselves as a candidate as part of the unit. → Non-officeholders (i.e. candidates) can participate in the parade but cannot be the focus - in part or in whole - of any unit. Questions should be submitted to the Parade Committee before February 28th. → Under no circumstances can any political information about any candidate or political issue be handed out or promoted/displayed as part of any unit. Political signs or shirts of all kinds are not allowed (“John Smith” on a sign is ok, or “John Smith, Officeholder” on a sign is ok if he holds that office, but “John Smith for Office” or “John Smith, Libertarian” is not allowed . • Participation: → Please keep your unit a distance of 25 yards behind the unit in front of you at all times during the parade route. → Units must complete the entire parade route and finish where the parade ends. → If a unit will have more than 50 persons, it must be approved by the Parade Committee prior to the application. → One vehicle per unit unless approved by the Parade Committee. Additional fees may apply for more than one vehicle. → Drinking of alcohol is not permitted anywhere along the Parade route. → Please clean up any trash or debris left by your unit. → Due to safety and insurance reasons, animals are not allowed in the Parade without prior approval by the Parade Committee prior to the Parade application deadline in February. → Please advise of any changes prior to the parade at 888-756-3552. • Waivers and Releases: → Entry and advertising release: In consideration of acceptance of your entry in the Parade, the entrant agrees to permit the Indy Sports Foundation to use their names and/or photographs, films or tapes of the units for publicity, advertising and commercial promotion, before, during and after the event, and gives permission to publish or sell or otherwise dispose of said photographs, films or tapes. → Liability release: All parade entries are required to sign the liability waiver as part of the Parade application process. The representative signing for each unit takes full responsibility for their unit in the parade. The representative also agrees that his/her unit fully understands and agrees to adhere to these Rules and Regulations. → Proof of Insurance: For a parade entrant that will operate a motorized vehicle in the parade, each such Parade entrant will certify that all authorized motor vehicles and drivers are covered by liability insurance as provided by Indiana law. → All drivers of any vehicle in the parade will sign the liability waiver. • Payment for parade units is required at least one month prior to the parade. • Failure to adhere to these Rules and Regulations could mean unit ejection from the parade without refund and/or failure for unit to participate in future parades.
