2015 Board Member Search
ICDC’s continuing success is driven in large part through our staff, executive director, and
wonderful programming and philosophies.
In addition, we benefit from the guidance provided from the ICDC board of directors. While as a
non-profit, we are required to maintain board oversight of our program and business, we know
that it goes beyond this, as we view the board as an engaged group of supporters who know the
benefits ICDC brings to our children, our families, our community, and our society.
...and we need your help to continue to provide the best
early child development program in Calgary.
The ICDC board will regularly bring on new board members for a variety of reasons, including:

The need for an individual possessing a specialized skill, interest, or passion which can
benefit a program, initiative, or function of the Centre.
To maintain program sustainability with a robust number of board members and officer
positions.
Currently, ICDC is seeking to bring in 3 new board members. The motivation is to prepare for
the departure of a few board members in the coming school year, and we are hoping to
encourage parents who are planning to be involved with ICDC for at least two more years,
either as parents of enrolled kids, or as supporting members of the community...or both.
Please provide the following to be considered for this year’s appointments:
1. Why ICDC is the right fit for your child and your community.
2. The skills or perspective you would bring to the board that will help us to continue
supporting, sustaining, and growing the program.
3. Any initiatives that you would like to lead or be a part of during your tenure on the board.

seeing you at the June 16 board meeting for nominations and appointments.

ICDC’s board would benefit from involvement from engaged community members, usually
parents, who want to bring their desire to help grow and sustain this wonderful program. And
while it’s not a requirement, we particularly encourage individuals with interest and experience
in human resources, staff remuneration and benefits packages, education, finance, business
growth, facilities development/management, and any other field that would help the Centre.

The ICDC Board is hoping to vote in new members before the summer during our June Board
meeting. At that time, we also expect to appoint one of the new board members to the role of
