.: TelehealthOne, LLC, Mississippi’s only private state­based telemedicine company, is offering their services to long­term care (LTC) facilities across the state. Countrybrook Living Center in Brookhaven, Miss. is the first long term care facility in the State to embrace the services offered by TelehealthOne. TelehealthOne is currently working with other long term care providers to offer telemedicine services to other patients across the State. Telehealth combines the personalized service of a house call, with the innovative technology offered in this age of the Internet of Things (IOT). The CEO of the American Telehealth Association, Jonathan Linkous stated, “Studies have shown that telehealth can improve access, reduce costs and improve the quality of healthcare.” Remote connections also improve patient convenience with regards to time and location, as well as treating patients to a higher level of health care on a continued basis as needed. With the worst shortage of physicians in the country, other benefits exist across Mississippi when utilizing telemedicine approaches. Physician shortages are being diminished by allowing mid­level providers to see patients. This is particularly helpful for patients who need quick access to care or for those that need doctors focusing on specialize medicine. In April 2013, Mississippi became the 16th state to enact into law provisions which required health insurance plans to provide coverage for telehealth medicine. Telehealth services are now covered in the same way as “in­person” healthcare. Proudly, Mississippi is receiving an “A” grade for both policy and legislation, which makes them one of only seven states to receive this premium rating. ### About telehealthONE, LLC:​
