IT’S READY—SET—GO TRIATHLON On May 3, the Liberty University Online Academy East Coast Triathlon Festival returns to Innsbrook as one of three national races in which youth and junior elite triathletes compete for a chance to qualify for the National Championships held in Ohio in August. Now in its third year, the day of racing has become an early season highlight for local, national and Canadian athletes. Many of these athletes are competing to become future Olympians with the goal of making the team in 2016 or 2020. The festival is very spectator-friendly, as all races are completed on a course completely closed to traffic with multiple loops encircling the viewing area. Bring your entire family out to the race and be part of one of the most unique triathlon experiences in the country. Volunteer to help on the day of the event or join us to cheer on the athletes. Some 1,000 spectators are anticipated for this major sporting event. The race and expo will be held at 4600 Cox Road in the Markel parking lots with Innsbrook as its beautiful backdrop.
