International Joint Master Program on Smart Grid and Green Energy School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics Institut Teknologi Bandung International Joint Master Program on Smart Grid and Green Energy School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics Institut Teknologi Bandung in collaboration with French Universities 1. BACKGROUND In the future power systems are faced with the challenge to address many issues: reliability, efficiency, economics and environment. The modern systems are expected to balance supply and demand of electrical energy in rapidly growing urban. In addition to the aging existing electricity infrastructure, the massive integration of renewable energy resources (Green Energy) at distribution sides has changed revolutionary the paradigm of power supply chain from vertical central to horizontal distributed scheme. Fortunately, the sophisticated developed information and communication technology enables the electricity grid to smartly provide optimal energy management (Smart Grid). This critical condition encourages the world to realize the modernization of power systems based on the concept Smart Grid that enables the exploitation of large scaled Green Energy resources. Smart Grid is the future of power systems 2. PROGRAM AT A GLANCE School of Electrical Engineering and Informatics of ITB in collaboration with some French Universities under coordination of University of Toulouse III and Grenoble Institute of Technology proudly present International Joint Master Program on Smart Grid and Green Energy.
