Key Responsibility Tasks
Islamic Relief Academy is a Strategic Business Unit developed in 2013 to serve the Leadership and
Development needs of Islamic Relief (IR) family and the wider charity sector. IR Academy is the
learning, research and leadership development hub of Islamic Relief, the largest Muslim charity in
the west. IR Academy’s mission is to build and improve capacity and make a significant contribution
to the whole aid sector, by offering credible Islamic perspectives on emergency relief and
development. We strive to achieve our mission through the following main functions:

Internship Programme
Islamic Relief Academy is seeking an enthusiastic, highly-motivated, dynamic individual to work with
the L&D Manager to provide administrative and logistical support. The role will involve supporting
process Learning in the largest Muslim NGO; the successful Intern will be responsible for:
L&D Administration role
- Checking help desk
- Sending monthly highlights
- Receiving training application forms
- Updating Excel sheet for Training attendance
- Sending joining instructions
- Working with trainers to provide admin support in photocopying, preparing participants
manuals, names tags, signing in sheets, providing evaluation forms, etc
- Helping in room layout
- Update the L&D files
- Arrange hospitality
- Summarise evaluations
- Take enquiries over telephone
- Attend training events as and when advised
L&D Officer role
- Working with LDO’s on design and development of Training
- Assisting in the co-ordination of training
- Involved (as appropriate) in L&D needs analysis discussions
L&D Management role
- Support Head of L&D in management functions as appropriate

A graduate with a minimum honours degree in the last 2 years
Committed to Islamic Relief faith driven values and core humanitarian principles
MS Office - Word, Excel, Power Points,
Excellent communication skills - written and spoken Englis
Customer service skills

Good email writing and comprehension skills
Minimum at Level C in GCSE in English
