Pecém II undergoes maintenance for furnace’s ash removal and anticipates biennial preventive
maintenance stoppage
Rio de Janeiro, April 24, 2015 – ENEVA S.A. – In Judicial Recovery (“ENEVA” or “Company”)
(BM&FBOVESPA: ENEV3, GDR I: ENEVY) informs its shareholders and the market in general that Pecém II
Thermal Power Plant (“Pecém II” or “Plant”), currently owned by the Company and E.ON, had its operation
suspended on April 13, 2015 in order to initiate ash removal procedures in the furnace of the Plant. At the
beginning of this process, it was verified an accumulation of ash above normal, which led to initiate
additional maintenance procedures.
Initial assessments from Pecém II operations team, along with E.ON experts, indicate that the reported
occurrence was mainly caused by a deficiency in the furnace’s coal burner system. As a consequence, a work
plan was defined, consisting in remove the ash from the furnace and repair or replace burners of this
equipment, at an estimate cost of approximately R$2 million. In addition to these activities, root cause
analysis has been performed to mitigate the possibility that the problem comes up again.
In order to minimize the total downtime of Pecém II for 2015, the biennial preventive maintenance stoppage
of the Plant, initially expected for August 2015, is being anticipated to coincide with the abovementioned
works. Such activities are estimated to be concluded by mid-May 2015.
The Company will keep its shareholders and the market informed of any further developments regarding the
matters of this Notice to the Market.
