as we begin meeting weekly in the Memorial Union

Summer Conversation Club
at Starbucks • 5:15-6:30pm
Free class will be held beginning Wednesday, May 13
at Starbucks near Tempe campus on 1717 S. Rural Rd.
at 5:15-6:30pm. Since they do not charge for using
their space, each student will be expected to make a
small purchase at Starbucks. They may contact Joan

You are invited to join us on Saturday, July 4 for a spectacular evening of fireworks celebrating the birth of the
United States. It will be a special evening as we enjoy a
nice meal catered by Central Christian Church who are
hosting the event. Plus we’ll have great seats to the see
the show.
Transportation will be provided from the ASU Bookstore, departing promptly at 6:00pm. It will be a great
opportunity to make new friends.

Classes Beginning in August...
Thursdays, 7:30pm • MU (On Summer Break) It’s
a free program where students (and spouses) can
come on Thursday nights at 7:30pm to practice
English, with helpful, friendly people are there each
week to help you learn through interactive lessons.

Tuesdays, 1:00pm • C3 Bldg. (On Summer Break)
Free class (like the one mentioned above) meets on
Tuesdays afternoons, across the street from the Gammage Auditorium in C-3 Building, address: 1034 S.

Three Groups in One Club
To help more students on the campus of ASU, the
International Students Club (ISC) is three groups.
Nancy Peterson with Kelly Quek oversee the group
that focuses on graduate students and visiting
scholars. Emmanuel and Mabel Chijindu provide
direction to the African Students Forum (ASF) and
Charles & Tracey Boyle oversee the group for undergraduate students. Details on all three groups and
their meetings are included in this newsletter.

ISC
International Students Club...
(ISC) is a friendship club at ASU for all international students. Beginning in early August, you can visit the ISC table on the
Tempe Main Campus (located west of the Memorial Union) from 9:30am to 12:30pm Monday-Thursday to get information,
practice speaking English, meet others and/or sign up for ISC activities.
Grads & Scholars...
Friday Night free dinners and Bible
discussion are held weekly at the
Peterson home at 6:30pm during the
semester but are currently on summer
break. Transportation is provided from
the ASU Bookstore at 6:10pm. Make
new friends, practice English and discover more about Biblical Christianity
with a group for those curious and
one for Christian internationals. For
more information on graduate and

Undergraduates...
Currently on summer break... look
for more details late July. If you’re an
international undergraduate looking
to meet new friends, join us at the Rita
House on Friday nights, 7:00pm for a
free meal, fellowship and Bible discussion sessions. Transportation provided
from the ASU Bookstore at 6:45pm

African Students...
All African Students are invited
to join us as we meet monthly to
encourage and strengthen one
another. This summer we’re meeting on Saturday, June 13 at 4:00pm

friendly meeting point and environment for student interaction, cultural
exchange, spiritual encounter and
