Island Park HIH 50's Sock Hop, Featuring The Raretones!
Yes, it's true! Hopping and bopping to the live music of The Raretones is worth a million
bucks! Families with more than one child can all attend for $50 ($55 at the door). Buy your
ticket today at the reduced price! Your ticket price also includes ice cream floats and popcorn,
just the right accompaniments to sip and munch as you groove to the tunes. The Raretones
features Island Park's Susan and Andy Hamp. The talented Hamps both sing in this group, well
known in the Seattle area. Your evening in the Island Park Multipurpose Room will be filled
with nonstop hits from the past. Of course, Elvis will be there as well to pose for photos with
you and your jiving kids. This muscial event is also a fundraiser for our Learning Support
Instructional Assistants' program, and is the 'teacher feature' for the second grade teachers,
with generous assistance from other IP teachers and staff who drop by to lend a hand, serve
floats, hand out popcorn, and twist with kids on the dance floor. Dig out your poodle skirts,
bobby socks, leather jackets, blue jeans, and loafers and join us at the Hop!!

Group Playdate at Luther Burbank with the PLP Team!
Group Playdate in the Park with Ms. Kenyon, Mrs. Jones, Ms. Dawn, Ms. Charlene, and Ms.
Jenna at Luther Burbank Park on Wednesday, May 13th from 2:30-4:30 pm. Parents may
purchase a space at the playdate for $30, drop their child off at Luther Burbank at 2:30 and
pick up at 4:30. Kids will explore the park, play on the playground, and have a snack together.
What a nice way to celebrate the school year. All kids welcome - Join us!

Meet your Aljoya pen pal for lunch with Ms. Oliveira &
Ms. Liana!
A special opportunity for your child to meet their Aljoya pen pal for lunch! Put a face to a
name and spend personal time getting to know your grandparent pen pal. Mrs. Oliveira and
Ms. Liana, our school counselor, will take two kids to Starbucks for a special treat, walk over to
Oh! Chocolate to get a chocolate goodie for their pen pal and then enjoy lunch with their pen
pal at Aljoya. While everyone gets a pen pal, only these special kids will have the opportunity
to spend quality time getting to know their pal. May 16th from 11AM to 1:30PM. Parents will
drop off kids at Starbucks and pick them up at Aljoya.
