Update from Truth! As many of you know, for several months Truth has been actively looking for property or a space of our own. During the summer, one of our members made us aware of a wonderful lot located on the town square across from the courthouse. We made an offer back in July and went through a few rounds of counteroffers before the current owners finally rejected our bid for the lot. After much prayer, we felt it best just to wait on God’s direction and wisdom about a future Truth location. After a few weeks of waiting, I am excited to tell you that HE CAME THROUGH. The owners approached us and offered to sell us the property for $155,000!!! (Our initial goal was to get it for between $150K and $160k!!!!!) We signed a contract last week and will close on the lot in less than 90 days!! Thanks for praying with us about this in the last few months and know that your prayers have been answered! Now for the challenge ahead: Our goal is to pay the land off as quickly as possible so that we can begin to build, but WE WILL NEED YOUR HELP TO DO THIS! During the summer, as we began to consider this land, we came up with a way for our friends and families, and their churches to help us pay off the land. Here’s how easy this can be: If we have —5 donors at $10,000 —10 donors at $5,000 —10 donors at $2,500 —25 donors at $1,000 WE WILL HAVE THE LAND PAID OFF AND CAN START BUILDING IN THE SUMMER! We have already had one church commit to raising $10,000 for our land fund, and have had other churches and individuals send gifts of $500-$1000. We’re off to a great start but WE STILL NEED YOUR HELP. Maybe your Sunday School would like to have a fundraiser…your church could give a Christmas gift to Truth in one of the amounts…your VBS/Youth Group could take us on as a missions project…your state or local association could make us your annual missions project…your WAC can adopt us and raise money to help…whatever you can do, IT WILL HELP!!! We are not asking you to do anything that we’re not challenging our own folks with as well. We are presenting them with a challenge this Sunday to raise AT LEAST $20,000 within our own congregation. We will do what we can do, but please remember that we are a mission church and are still growing up!
