Dear Parent,
 CLUB INAUGURATION (Std. IV):
There will be an inauguration of all clubs for the academic year 2015-16 on Saturday,
2nd May 2015 between 8.00 am to 9.00 am. Students of Std. IV who have opted
for various Clubs are expected to come to the school in regular school uniform.
(Refer to the circular sent to parents in this regard for the programme schedule).
 PARENT ORIENTATION PROGRAMME – Std. I (Afternoon Shift):
There will be a Parent Orientation Programme for the parents of Std. I (Afternoon
Shift) on Saturday, 2nd May 2015 in the main school at Darsait from 9.00 am
to10.00 am. Detailed circular follows.
MIDDLE SCHOOL INVESTITURE CEREMONY:
Middle School Investiture Ceremony (Junior Prefects) will be held on Monday, 4th
May 2015 from 7.30 am to 9.00 am in the new multipurpose hall. Mr. Austin Smith,
CommanderRoyal Navy, Naval & Air Attache, British Embassy Muscat has consented to
be the Chief Guest at the function.
 PARENT TEACHER MEETING:
Parent Teacher Meeting for Std. I and II (morning shift) will be held on Saturday, 9th
May 2015 from 8.00 am to 12.00 noon. Detailed circular follows.
 PARENTING SKILL WORKSHOP:
A Parenting Skill Workshop will be held on Thursday, 14th May 2015 from 7.00 pm
to8.30 pm in the new multipurpose hall for the parents of Std. I and II morning and
afternoon shifts.
The workshop will deal with issues related to Psycho Social
Development and Early Learning of young children.
BLOSSOMS INVESTITURE CEREMONY:
Investiture Ceremony of Blossoms (Std. IV morning and afternoon shifts) will be held
on Monday, 18th May 2015 in the new multipurpose hall from 8.30 am to 10.30
a.m.Colonel Paul H. Ross, DefenseAttache, American Embassy Muscat, Sultanate of
Oman will be the Chief Guest at the ceremony.
SENIOR SCHOOL INVESTITURE CEREMONY:
Senior school Investiture Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, 19th May 2015 from
8.30 am to 10.00 am in the new MPH. Capt. Arjun Dev Nair, Defence Advisor,
Embassy ofIndia Muscat will be the Chief Guest at the Investiture Ceremony.
CYCLE TESTS – STD. XI & XII:
Cycle tests for the students of Std. XI and XII will begin from Thursday, 21st May
2015.
 PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION:
As a part of ISM @ 40 celebrations, the school will be organizing a Photography
Exhibition on Saturday, 23rd May 2015 from 9.30 am to 1.30 pm & 5.00 pm to 8.00
pm and on Sunday, 24th May 2015 from 7.30 am to 2.00 pm & 5.00 pm to 7.30 pm.
MIDDLE SCHOOL ACADEMIC AWARD:
Middle School Academic Excellence Award function will be held on Thursday, 28th
May 2015at 6.30 pm in the new multipurpose hall.
All parents are cordially invited to attend the Academic Award Ceremony. Kindly be
seated by 6.15 p.m.
All meritorious students from Std. V to VIII (students who had secured A1 grade in all
the seven subjects in the last academic year) will be receiving the awards.
SCHOOL FEE:
The last date for paying the 1st quarter fee (April – June) without fine is on 15th May
2015.Parents are expected to clear the fees of their wards at the earliest. Parents are
encouraged to use the online payment – ATM/CDM & POS (Credit/Debit Card)
options.
ASCENSION OF PROPHET HOLIDAY:
Please follow the media announcements in this regard. The school will remain closed
on this day, as announced by the Government.
 DRAMA FEST:
To commemorate 40th year of Indian School Muscat, an inter-school DramaCompetition,
DRAMA FEST is being organized at ISM on 1st, 2nd and 3rd June 2015. All parents are
welcome to witness the competitions and encourage the participants. The timings are
from 8.00 am to 1.00 pm on 1st, 2nd June 2015. The Grand finale of the function
will be held on 3rd June 2015 from 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm in the new multipurpose
hall where the winners of the competition and the alumni will present their dramas.
 e-CIRCULARS:
We had introduced e-circulars w.e.f. 1st June 2014 and received overwhelming
support from the parents. This eco-drive initiative helped us to reduce the use of
paper and ink considerably. At the same time this move will ensure prompt delivery of
circulars to the given email ids. Please fill the proforma given below and send it to the
class teacher of your ward latest by Wednesday, 06th May 2015. Those parents who
had opted for e-circulars last year are also expected to fill and send the proforma given
below to update the records.
We congratulate the following students for their commendable achievements:

A group of 56 students from Std. VI, VII and VIII were selected to perform for the
Magic Flute by Mozart at Royal Opera House Muscat. Among all the Indian
Schools in the Sultanate of Oman, only ISM students were selected to perform
along with other private schools in the ROHM. Also ISM is the only Indian school
that was selected to perform for the public.

Juveria Pervez Abdul Rahman of Std. XII-D won a prize in the Holy Quran
recitation competition held in March 2015.
Twelve students along with two teachers Mrs. Geeta Chauhan and Mr.Daljeet
Singh went to Germany for the student exchange programme .
ISM won the Ambassador’s Rolling Trophy presented to the school that produced
the topper in the SastraPratibha contests in the Senior Category.
Rohit Peri (XI-H), Anika Vadlamani (X-D), FincyFrangline (X-F), Harsha Kumar
(X-F), Ruth Wilson Das (X-E), ShravaniGarmella (X-K), Hindumadi (XI-C), Aliva
Das (X-F) won the second place in the Science Skit in the Science India Fiesta.
AashnaSanghani (IX-I) and Alina Thomas T (IX-B) won the third place in Debate
for the Junior Category in the Science India Fiesta.
