GSK Medicine Research Centre in Stevenage is GlaxoSmithKline's largest R&D site in Europe. It sits within the newly developed science park that
boasts an incubator and accelerator together with common integrated areas for GSK and BioScience park colleagues to mingle. Open innovation
underpins the exciting research that has attracted leading life science companies and academics to the BioScience Park. In this same spirit the
postgraduate symposium will be open to GSK and BioScience employees which will provide a backdrop of opportunities to discuss your science
to a wider scientific community.
Arriving by Car
The site is approximately 30 miles
from London on the A1(M). Exit at
junction 7 and take the A602
Eastbound towards Hertford and
Ware. At the first roundabout take
the third exit and you will see the
entrance to the site. The security
reception is a further 50 yards on
the left.
Arriving by Train
The site is about 25 minutes walk
from Stevenage train station. Trains
stopping at Stevenage run from
Kings Cross via Finsbury Park on the
line to Peterborough, York,
Newcastle and Edinburgh. There is
a taxi rank opposite the station.
Arriving by Air
Stevenage is 12 miles from Luton
Airport. 35 miles from Heathrow
and Stanstead Airport.
Complimentary Shuttle Bus
Shuttle Bus services from station to
site is arranged. Shuttle bus will
leave at 8.15 and 8.45 from
Stevenage station. Return journey
will leave from site reception at
17.30 and 18.30.
Site Instructions
On arrival please report to the reception area next to the
security gatehouse. You will be issued with a visitor’s badge
and vehicle pass (if appropriate). Visitors’ badges should be
worn throughout your visit and handed in before you leave
the site.
You will then be directed to the designated car parking for
the conference (if required) and reception area on site. You
will then be directed to registration desk on the first floor of
building 1.
The company operates a no-smoking policy which
means that smoking is only permitted outside the site
boundary or in designated smoking areas if available.
We request that you do not bring cameras or recording
equipment on to site. Please note that the taking of
photographs without prior permission is strictly prohibited
(this includes the use of cameras or mobile phones with
photo-capability). Your compliance with this request is
appreciated.
