BELLFIELD BULLETIN
BELLFIELD COLLEGE / TERM 3 2012 / WEEK 4
Assalamu Alaikum
Eid is a reopening of our eyes to life to see
the beauty of the whole existence devoid
of any sort of attachment, to discover our
worthiness in the love of the Almighty
without any type of addiction of desires
and to observe the result of the victory of
our battle against the habits which had
dominated our soul.
Eid is a celebration in honor of the
transition of soul from the darkness of the
nights of filthy characteristics to the
shininess of the dawn of glittering merits;
a celebration of molting from wrong
mentalities, faulty understandings,
ambiguous convictions which had been
causing notorious mistakes in our past, to
the most pure shape of a proper human
being.
Eid is a drastic step for one to climb up the
height of success and announce to the self
as well as the whole existence that 'I am
free'; free from the captivity in the devilish
claws of whims and attachments.
Eid is the celebration of the expansion of
patience with assurance to have a better
understanding of the depth of the past and
begin the viewing of the horizons of
prosperity in the future.
Therefore may this Eid be the inspiration
for the happiness of your future...

Assalamu Alaikum,
All praise be to God for the passing of
yet another Holy Ramadan in our lives.
A month that cannot be equaled in
blessings nor in significance, a month
where faith develops, proximity to God
is nurtured, rewards are doubled and
generosity is spread. This year,
Bellfield College has ensured that it
organized and participated in a number
of charity events, in the idea of ‘giving
back to the community’.

EARLY LEARNING NEWS
Dear Parents.
READING - A WORLD OF PRINT.
You may have noticed in preschools and infant classrooms the many charts and
posters on the walls, or the cards with single words on them used to label things like
doors, windows, bookcases and so on. This is not because the teachers keep
forgetting the names of things. The intention is to create a world filled with the printed
word. Children then become comfortable having words around them. They notice the
shape of them and through natural curiosity, may well ask what particular words are.
Such children are ready to read.
You do not need to make your home look like a classroom, but the same principle
applies. Colourful posters with words on them, alphabet friezes around the walls,
notices stuck to the fridge are all part of print. Alphabet toys, jigsaw puzzles with
words in the pictures, games with written instructions, fridge magnets in the shapes
of letters, or a sign on child's bedroom door with their name on it are all part of the
reading process.
Children quickly notice words around them. They see words in the supermarket or
from the car window as you are driving. In these situations praise the child for
noticing the words .From this children learn that words have not only a meaning, but
a purpose.
Over time, children should have access to a wide variety of printed material such as
books and stories. Do you belong to your local library? It is a great idea to join a
library. Lifetime membership of a library supports lifelong reading. Public libraries will
allow you to borrow many books at each borrowing time.
Next week is Book Week at Bellfield College. You and your child will be able to
purchase books that have been particularly chosen by Scholastics book company.
The books on display for sale will be high quality story and information books.
Kind Regards.
Mrs Ferguson.
Early Learning Leader.

On that day my best friends mum invited us for dinner. We started heading to their home and reached their place right on 4me. Me and my BFF started doing ac4vi4es together. It was geHng late, we were in a rush because me and my brother didn't get any sleep. I went upstairs to bed and had a great sleep that night. Well the next day was school.

Don’t forget our
Olympic theme!
AT 6:30 am on Sunday morning, I woke up and got into my brand new Eid clothes and woke my two sisters up to do the same. I woke my dad up about 10 to Seven so he can take us to Eid prayers.
When we got there it was packed. We saw that 2 whole streets were full of cars and an es4mated 1km by 1km of a parking lot was full so we had to park on the 3rd street and walk a long way…
The Masjid was packed ‘Oh no!’ no one could get anywhere and we had to wait for half the people to leave. The Sheik prayed over 4 4mes and about 400 people praying every prayer, it was amazing how much people there were.
We invited lots of family, they came over for breakfast and my mum was busy cooking and preparing breakfast and my dad bought pizza. Breakfast was de-‐li-‐
cious.
Then aMer a while we went to fox studio and played on really cool rides, we had so much fun. Everybody got hungry, so my dad took us to Thai in Brighton. We ate lots of yummy food. We went for a walk at the beach in Brighton while having hot chocolate at sunset it was a beau4ful.
AMer that long walk we went to my grandparents’ house to see them for Eid. At the end of the day I got $160 that we get as a EID present.
