A holiday is supposed to be a break from studies, explanations and completing tasks. It is about learning new things which you enjoy doing but are not able to do due to time constraint. But are holidays supposed to make kids irresponsible? No! So you are going to take up certain responsibilities and also enjoy holidays with your family and friends. Some pointers for students to follow: Plan your vacations that you promptly attend school on the first day. Manage your time and dispense the work for quick completion. Do not hustle yourself at the last minute. Be independent and honest in doing your work. Pick up a new activity for leisure time. Note: The homework must be done systematically as per given instructions. All file, scrap books, projects, models should be neatly labeled and the name, class, section should be mentioned clearly. MATHS Project 1: Value of Pi (Roll no. 1-10) Collect six circular objects of different sizes and paste them in your file. (a) Measure the circumference and the diameter of each circle using thread and calculate the value of pi using π = circumference/diameter. Make a table showing value of pi in each case, representing that the value of pi remains constant. Project 2: Re modelling of room (Roll no.11-20) You are remodeling your room and need to furnish it. Set your budget for the same. Make a list of things you need to make your room complete. Visit at least two stores from where you can purchase the things you need. Measure of vertically opposite angles. Science Note: 1.Present your work in a project file having an attractive cover page. (Q No I) Try this activity What You Need: Balloons Narrow funnel 1 tablespoon (15ml) active dry yeast 1 teaspoon (5 ml) sugar Measuring spoons Measuring cup Warm water Ruler What You Need To Do: 1. Place the bottom of a funnel into the opening of the balloon. You may need to stretch the opening of the balloon a little bit so that it fits. 2. Have a parent (or a carefully supervised child), pour the yeast and the sugar into the balloon through the funnel. Then fill the measuring cup with warm water from the sink and carefully pour the water into the balloon. 4 3. Remove the funnel from the opening of the balloon. Tie a knot in the balloon to keep the waterand-yeast mixture inside. Measure your balloon. 4. Place the balloon in a warm place and wait. Measure your balloon again 5. Take half chart paper and fold it into 3 parts and arrange the picture of the artist, his or her famous paintings and brief relevant information in a creative and attractive manner. Give a suitable title to the project. d) BOOK COVER DESIGNING ( For roll no. 31-40) Design an attractive book cover on any one great personalities around the world.( Eg. Ashoka, Martin Luther King, Kamal Ataturk, Queen Victoria,etc.) Also attach few pages (5-6 pages) regarding information in the form of biography and relevant pictures related to the personality.
