1. Wash your client’s hair with the Peter Coppola Keratin Concept Clarifying Shampoo. For Virgin and hair
with heavy product build up shampoo twice, for all other hair types shampoo once.
2. Towel dry hair.
3. Section the hair and apply the COPPOLA Keratin Smoothing Treatment onto 1-inch sections of hair
(start with 2-3oz for entire head of hair), starting from the roots to ends. Hair should be saturated with
product and evenly distributed from roots to ends using the Peter Coppola fine tooth tail comb. Avoid
applying directly to scalp and remove excess product with comb. BE SURE TO SHAKE THE BOTTLE WELL
BEFORE USE.
PRO TIP: During application, it is important to be combing the product through with the Peter Coppola
fine tooth tail comb, keeping the hair straight and sleek as the amino acids gently begin to smooth the
hair.
4. Let the COPPOLA Keratin Smoothing Treatment process for 20-30 minutes for fine, color treated and
highlighted hair. For medium texture with moderate wave and curl, let process for 30-40 minutes. For
virgin, resistant and heavy curl patterned, hair let process for 40-50 minutes. Be sure to continue
combing the hair straight every 10 minutes until processing is complete. PRO TIP: If client has virgin,
resistant or heavy curl patterned hair type, for first 10 minutes of processing time, cap hair and place
under hood dryer at medium to high heat if desired. This will accelerate penetration of the treatment
into resistant hair types.
5. Completely rinse the hair in warmer water until all foaminess is removed and water runs clear.
6. Blow dry hair until 100% dry with a round or vent brush.
7. Section the hair and Flat Iron 1/8" to 1/4” sections between 350 and 430 degrees. Glide over hair
avoiding breakage, making 7 to 9 passes or until hair is silky smooth.
PRO TIP: Adjust heat, width of sections and tension and number of passes to accommodate the texture
and condition of each individual hair type.
8. After Flat Iron work is complete, add a few drops of Peter Coppola Keratin Concept Argan Oil to the
ends and flyaways for a polished finish.
PRO TIP: Recommend Peter Coppola Keratin Concept sulfate and sodium chloride-free shampoos and
conditioners to guarantee longevity of the service. Also recommending Peter Coppola after care and
styling products will protect the results of the treatment, hair color and overall health of the hair.
