HISTORY OF INSTITUTION
To cater the growing needs of the vocational and general Education of the people of the
rural area, this institution (Janta Vidya Bhawan, Butana) was started in 1952 as a school
education. Ch. Dhajja Ram played a leading role in the establishment of this institute. The
institute has sprawling campus spread in area of 50 acres, totally pollution free the campus
boasts of spacious lawns and well raid roads. The institute stated the training classes like J.B.T,
Drawing classes etc. to enable the youth of this area to get the in various Govt. Department in
1977 a job oriented Diploma course in Pharmacy, Diploma in Polytechnic in 2004 and Bachelor
Degree in Pharmacy in 2009 was started in this institution endeavors for the fast academics to
face the challenges of the 21st century, through comprehensive training and excellent education
delivery systems.

Janta college of Pharmacy is duly approved by AICTE (All India Council for
Technical Education) and affiliated to Pt. B. D. Sharma Health University of Sciences HSBTE,
Punchkula and also approved by PCI (Pharmacy Council of India). It offers 4 years
undergraduate course in pharmacy and 2 years Diploma Course is Highly Competent,

PHARMACOLOGY LABORATORY:
Pharmacology studies of different drug molecules on various models like pain, inflammation, muscle-relaxant
properties, analgesic, antipyretic etc.
Facilities in Lab:Actophotometer, Rota-rod, analgesiometer, Organ
bath, Eddie’s hot plate, Poll climbing apparatus,
Spirometer, Pharmacology software, Different charts
related to our body system etc.
PHARMACOGNOSY LABORATORY:
In Pharmacognosy Lab. Pharmacognostic and Phyochemical Screening, Extraction and Isolation of secondary
plant metabolites and standardization of herbal drug has been done.
Facilities in Lab:Thin Layer Chromatography, Soxhlet apparatus,
Clevenger’s apparatus, compound microscope and projection
microscope, Camera Lucida, Hot air oven, BOD Incubator,
Colony Counter, Zone Reader, Moisture balance, Weighing
balance and charts related to microscopy & morphology of
medicinal drugs.
PHARMACEUTICS LABORATORY:
Pharmaceutics division is engaged in formulation, Optimization & evaluation of various conventional (like
tablets, capsuls, syrup, ointment, cream dosage etc.) and novel (like microspheres, we get familiarize with
standardization and of functions of various modern equipments like.
Facilities in Lab:Friability tester, Disintegration test apparatus, Dissolution
test apparatus, clarity test apparatus and Bulk density apparatus,
Tablet Machine, Tablet Coating Pan, Ball Mill, Ampoule filling and
sealing machin, Autoclave, pH Meter, Laminar air flow, Aseptic
room etc.
PHARMACEUTICAL CHEMISTRY LABORATORY:
In Pharmaceutical Chemistry Lab. Design, Synthesis and Analysis
of Drug Molecules has been done.
Facilities in Lab:Fluorimeter, Colorimeters, pH Meters, Melting point
apparatus, distillation assemblies, Electronic, Anylytical and
Digital balance, UV Spectrometer Double beam and single
beam etc.

JANTA POLYTECHNIC, BUTANA(SONEPAT)
Introduction:
Janta Polytechnic, Butana (Sonipat) was established in 2004 with two courses ECE and Applied Art and
Craft. In 2006, two new courses Computer Engg. And Electrical Engg were introduced.
In 2008, Mechanical Engg and Civil Engg were also introduced in the institute. Today it is a successful
institution in creating a platform for deserving students of the state. The institution has a mission of imparting technical
education to create a new technical knowledge based professionals who will be capable to face the challenges of the
globalization process. The institute also provides opportunities for a bright career. It gives a vision of the 21st century.
Aims and Objectives:
The institute has been established to prepare mid-level supervisory manpower required by the Industry by
imparting training in theory and practical skills for three years.

The polytechnic is affiliated to Haryana State Board of Technical Education, Panchkula. The curriculum as
framed by the Board of Technical Education is followed in the institution. The examinations are conducted by the Board
and on successful completion of the course, the Board awards the Diploma.

recognized board/ university with 35% marks.
Eligibility for Admission in Diploma (Engg)-Lateral Entry Courses
All those candidates who have passed ITI at least with one year (who passed 10th level school leaving
examination before admission to ITI courses), 10+2 (vocational) or 10+2 with PCM would be eligible for consideration
for lateral entry in various Diploma Engineering courses.
