MostrecentlyAssistantProvostforResearchatBucknellUniversity,Dr.Burdsalwillleverage
herexperienceasaformerfacultyresearcher,universitygrantsadministrator,andProgram
DirectorattheNationalScienceFoundation(NSF)toassistclientswithfederalgrant‐seeking
activities.

BeforejoiningBucknellUniversity,Dr.BurdsalservedasProgramDirectorattwoNSFclusters
in the IOS Division of the Directorate for Biological Sciences (BIO): the Physiological &
StructuralSystemsandtheDevelopmentalSystemsclusters,whichsupportmultidisciplinary
researchattheinterfacesofbiology,physics,chemistry,mathematics,computerscienceand
engineering.
Prior to her public service at NSF and following a period of postdoctoral research at the
UniversityofCalifornia,SanFrancisco,Dr.BurdsalheldseveralpositionsatTulaneUniversity,
first as an assistant professor, then as associate professor, and later as Associate Dean for
Academic Programs. She earned her B.S. in Biology from the University of Miami and then
trainedasaCellandDevelopmentalBiologistatDukeUniversity,wheresheearnedherPh.D.
in1990.
BasedinWashington,D.C.,with30full‐timeemployees,McAllister&Quinnprovidesnumerous
private and public colleges and universities with consulting in areas such as federal grants,
congressionalresearchfunding,foundations,public‐privateandinternationalpartnershipsand
institution‐widestrategicprojects.##END
