JOB PURPOSE
To establish corporate document management principles to the management of examination
publications documentation, co-ordinating the work of the business, IS and Group Archives to
secure controlled growth of this corporate asset.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Establish and maintain governance and retention schedule documents for examination
publications documentation throughout the organisation by creating a workflow of
examination publications procedures for each business unit, establishing appropriate
business contacts and acting as an effective co-ordinator between business units, IS and
Group Archives with regard to the management of examination publications documentation.

Monitor workflow practices of examination publications documentation between business
and IS management in terms of business requirements and information legislation
compliance; auditing transfers and resolving issues of non compliance with agreed
protocols.

Represent the examinations publications archive to all business units through appropriate
channels of document management compliance to promote good practice and monitor
business developments to ensure that requirements for the controlled growth of this
corporate asset are met.

Represent examinations publications archive requirements in IS development through
contacts and engagement with appropriate IS staff to provide enhanced co-operation
between the business units and IS and to ensure that the examination publications are

The post holder will be required to work independently to review policies, establish contacts,

which is created in a highly controlled environment.

As a professionally qualified document manager, the post holder will be expected to advise
business staff on all aspects of document management with particular reference to the
management of examination publications.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Qualifications


Honours degree and post graduate diploma or degree in records management or archive
administration, or equivalent post graduate qualification as recognised by the Archives and
Records Association.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a document management role in a large organisation
Skills




Strong IT skills with an ability to adapt to new and different systems while achieving a
consistent outcome.
Excellent written and oral communication skills and a willingness to work with people at all
levels.
An ability to grasp complex administrative processes quickly and gain an effective overview
of procedures to extract key information.
A sharp attention to detail.

Experience of working with archive and IT professionals.
Experience in dealing with large quantities of documentation quickly and efficiently
