In route we visit the deepest gorge east of Niagara Falls, taking time for photos; Hartland will be our next stop at the Longest Covered Bridge in the world with lunch in the Fredericton area. This afternoon we visit the Magnetic Hill in Moncton and then make our way across the Confederation Bridge to the island called the “Garden of the Gulf” and our home for the next three nights in Summerside. Day 3-4 Two great days to explore some of this island paradise. Time will be devoted to the capital City of Charlottetown for a brief city. The Prince Edward Island Preserve Company in New Glasgow is a fascinating and very successful home grown business that you will enjoy immensely. We’ll see the highlights of Summerside and many of the beautiful fox homes and devote time to The Cavendish area with visits to Anne of Green Gables Museum, Kensington, and Long River, a great photo stop at Hosteddar’s View Scape on the French River, and Green Gables House. We’ll explore O’Leary area and visit The Potato Museum as well as a Basket Weaving demonstration in Richmond. A mouth-watering lobster dinner is sure to be a highlight during our stay on PEI. (B) Day 7 Kelowna - Victoria, British Columbia It’s across the top of the mountains today as we make our way from the Okanagan Valley to Hope B.C. via way of the Coquihalla Toll Highway which takes us over the top of the coastal range to Hope. We’ll drive across the delta to Tsawwassen for our ferry to Swartz Bay by way of the Georgia Strait and through part of the Gulf Islands. Our hotel for the next two days will be in Victoria within walking distance of the harbour. This afternoon we will visit the Mile “0” Monument at the beginning of the Trans-Canada Highway. Day 2 Rimouski - Percé Our day will start with a visit to the Lighthouse Museum where we learn the story and history of “The Empress of Ireland” It was one of Canada’s worst marine disasters, but one that is seldom talked about. We cross the Gaspé Peninsula at it’s narrowest point and travel through one of the prettiest spots in Eastern Canada, that of the Matapedia Valley. We’ll have lunch in New Brunswick today before we veer east to the north shore of the Bay of Chaleur and on to Percé for a two-night stay at Hotel Le Mirage over looking the bay and Bonaventure Island. Day 7 Plum Point - L`Anse-Au-Clair It is our second ferry ride this morning, crossing the Strait of Belle Isle and Iceberg Alley to the shores of the other part of Newfoundland, that of Labrador. We are visiting Red Bay, a small community that speaks of the Basque Whaling industry that thrived here all along the coast over 400 years ago. A visit to the museum will connect you with ancient traditions that keep folklore and ancient crafts alive today. The museum will also reveal the gripping story of the oil-laden San Juan that sank in 33 feet of water in Red Bay. How about some tangy baked apples fashioned into a pie? Locals call them cloud berries - a lumpy-looking golden fruit that grows in profusion in south Labrador. Lessons in sea lore, sea-washed scenery, down home hospitality and good food sums up this day beautifully. Day 8 L`Anse-Au-Clair - Plum Point We head back across the Strait of Belle Isle this morning and visit L`Anse-aux-Meadows, National Historical site of the first European settlement in North America. 11 Day 9 Plum Point - Gander We are backtracking a bit today making our way back down the highway to Deer Lake for our lunch stop. In general, if you have a pre-existing medical condition, your condition must have been stable prior to your registration date in order for the policy to cover in case of cancellation due to this illness. Cancellation due to illness requires a written Doctors report. If a client has booked and paid for a tour without cruise and air, and needs to cancel for reasons not otherwise covered by the Insurance Policy, and is capable of replacing themselves, no charges will be made except for a minimum $25 + tax administration fee to the person cancelling. 32 In the event of cancellation, transfer of monies from one person to another cannot be made due to regulations. Therefore the person who has cancelled will receive from Jolly Tours a refund in the amount required, and the person who is replacing, will need to pay for their tour in full. If a person is traveling with a partner whether it is Double, Triple or Quad, and replacement is not found, the remaining travelers will be charged for the change in occupancy. For example: Two people traveling together find that one needs to cancel, then remaining partner will be charged the difference from double to single. In all instances, Jolly Tours needs to be notified of the cancellation within 24 hours. There will be a $25 + tax change fee levied to change room occupation on a deposited registration. * Surcharge may apply on cancellation insurance premium in upper age categories.
