JACKSONVILLE PUBLIC LIBRARY WELCOMES JENNIFER GILTROP AS
DEPUTY DIRECTOR FOR PUBLIC SERVICES
Giltrop Brings More Than 17 Years of Public Library Experience
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., April 27, 2015 – Jennifer L. Giltrop today begins her new role
as deputy director of public services for the Jacksonville Public Library. She will report
to Library Director Barbara Gubbin.
“We are excited to welcome Jennifer Giltrop to Jacksonville and to our administrative
team,” said Director Gubbin. “She brings to the position a wealth of knowledge gained
from not only 17 years of public library experience, but also a background in human
resources and business prior to becoming a librarian.”
Giltrop most recently served as director of public services for the DC Public Library,
where her responsibilities included directing public services and operations for the
system’s Central Library and 25 neighborhood libraries. Previously, she served as
public services director for The Seattle Public Library, a branch library system with 27
locations.
Giltrop holds a Master of Library and Information Science degree from Wayne State
University in Detroit, Michigan, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business
Administration from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
She will be filling the position left vacant when the former deputy director retired.
