Tasks: Topic – Toys Talk to Learn This week in school the children have started their final topic in year one, ‘Toys’. They have discussed what they already know about toys and what they would like to learn. Some of us have had our ‘Toy day’ and some have that to look forward to next week!! This week for home learning we would like the children to find out about the toys that people played with in the past. They will be asking you questions about what you used to play with when you were their age. They might even like to ask their grandparents! They do not need to record for this task. However, if they would like to they could write some sentences into their home learning books or stick in some pictures of these toys found on the internet. The children will have the opportunity to share and discuss what they have found out about toys from the past in school. Have fun! WILF: (What I’m looking for…) All children will ask questions to find out information. Most children will ask questions and recall the information they have found out.
