RULES AND REGULATIONS
REGISTRATION FEE - FREE
SITES – All sites will be the same size – 10 x 10. Please make sure you remain in your
designated site and not invade the sites around you.
EQUIPMENT - Only hand tools, buckets, hand-pump sprayers and misters are permitted.
Equipment must be provided by participants. Basic tools such as small buckets and
shovels are available for purchase on the day of the contest. Only beach umbrellas are
permitted. NO tents.
MATERIALS –
 Decorations and ornaments such as pennants, toy figures, shells and seaweed are
permitted
 Wood bracing is permitted but must be removed at the end of the contest
 Sculptures may not be artificially supported
 No ingredients may be mixed with sand to improve the texture
 No fireworks on sculptures
 Powdered tempera paint or food coloring may be used for color but spray paint is
NOT permitted.
CHECK-IN – All participants (including those pre-registered) MUST check in at the HOW
Foundation tent on the beach for site assignments.
PARKING – There is limited free parking on the street for participants on a first come, first
served basis.
WINNERS – Winners will be selected by the 2015 Sand-Sculpting Committee from the
HOW Foundation of South Florida.
