Juneau Fine Arts Camp Additional Information and Policies
Registration
FAC registrations will NOT be accepted prior to April 1 or after May 25. No exceptions. Registrations will be on our
website, juneaudance.org. Once your registration is processed at JDU, it will be forwarded to the FAC
Registrar. She will send an email to you confirming receipt of your registration. If you do not receive your first
choice of classes, the FAC Registrar will contact you by phone. In late May, your student's confirmed classes will be
emailed. If you have questions regarding registration, please call the JDU Studio at 907-463-5327 or during camp,
call the Camp Director at 907-635-2025.
Camp Refund Policy
If you provide notice of cancellation within TWO WEEKS prior to FAC, a full refund will be given. If you provide
notice of cancellation by June 1, 50% of your tuition will be refunded. NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN AFTER THE
START OF FAC. When issuing refunds, JDU retains a $25 processing fee per camper.
Class Cancellation Policy
JDU reserves the right to cancel FAC programs due to lack of registrations. If any program is canceled, registrants
will be notified and an attempt will be made to place them in an alternate class.
First Day at FAC
This year, because of our camp location at Juneau Douglas High School, the structure of the first day has changed a
little. Parents should bring campers through the doors of auxiliary gym, where they will find the Fine Arts Camp
front desk, receive their camp schedule and be directed to their assigned class. The Fine Arts Camp director and
registrar will be at the front desk to answer any questions you may have, and to register any late-comers. After each
class, teenage assistants will walk children to the JDHS auxiliary gym -- the camp's central meeting area this year -- to
meet for their next class. Parents should plan to pick up children IN the auxiliary gym each day, where their teen
assistant will sign out each child.
Late Pick Up Penalties - CAMP IS OVER AT 12 P.M. AND 2:20 P.M.
JDU’s liability insurance mandates our instructors to remain in the building until all students have departed. When
class is over, if an instructor has to stay longer than 15 minutes with a student waiting to be picked up, parents will
be billed $25 per 15 minutes for the instructor’s time. Invoices will be mailed and prompt payment is expected.
Snacks/Lunch
All FAC students are required to bring a snack for our snack break - K-1st snack at 10:15 a.m. and 2nd-6th graders
snack at 10:50 a.m. Full day campers are required to bring a lunch also. Everyone is encouraged to bring a filled
water bottle.
Personal Items
Items brought to FAC should be labeled with the camper’s name and phone number. Please do NOT bring any
valuable items to FAC. A lost and found box will be kept at the front desk.
Final Performance
Families will have the opportunity to come see what their FAC participants have experienced and learned at Fine Arts
Camp! Mark your calendars: June 22, 6:00-7:30 p.m., in the JDHS commons and auditorium. Campers will display
artwork in a gallery in the commons and a final performance will be held in the auditorium. Additionally, the Boston
Weber Dance Co., dance intensive students, and several selected FAC participants will perform Thursday, June 21 at
7 p.m. at the Thunder Mountain HS Auditorium.
