Lowe’s Window Treatment Installer Training Sponsored By: Install Team It is important to both Lowe’s and you as a contractor to present a positive professional image to the customer. The customer will expect this from Lowe’s and in turn from Lowe’s installers performing services on their behalf. The more confidence developed with the customer during the initial contact, the less likely the customer will be to expect a problem and the less likely the possibility that a problem will develop. A positive attitude produces a positive result. You, from the customer’s point of view, represent Lowe’s…and the way they remember Lowe’s has a direct bearing upon whether Lowe’s retains and expands its customer base, and in turn whether Lowe’s has customer jobs available to offer the contractor for installation. Your positive attitude and professional approach to each job can make a difference with the customer in how they feel about their project and will ensure our mutual success! Introduction to the Training: What you will learn: 1. Introduction to the role you play within Lowe’s. 2. Basics on how to measure/install. 3. Common discovery questions to ask your customers. 4. High Level features & benefits of the categories you deal with on a daily basis. 5. Applications for each of the categories. 6. On Line resources that are available. Your role within Lowe’s Introduction to your role within Lowe’s • You are the face of Lowe’s and represent the company and the values that it stands for. • There are expectations that Lowe’s requires that will help you succeed, ensure customer satisfaction and to bridge the gap between the customer and the installer. • The next few slides walk through the: Customer Care Do’s Customer Care Don'ts Customer Care Do’s Call the customer on the way to the job. Be aware of your surrounding “Don’t do anything you wouldn’t want your customer or neighbors to see”. Show up in a presentable vehicle – Washed Vehicle and No Rust. Use oil shields in the driveway. Be in complete, crisp and presentable uniform. Use “yes ma’am”, “yes sir” language. Remove shoes or use shoe coverings when inside home. Please adhere to the shoe cover rule at ALL times. Introduce yourself and your company upon arrival. Customer Care Do’s Before starting work, explain the detail and install process. Be considerate. Make sure animals don’t get out, start in a particular area if needed, work through the garage if necessary, etc. Use genuine conversation with the customer. Avoid discussing religion, politics or any emotionally charged subject. Work steadily but don’t appear to be nor speak of about being rushed. Be careful when carrying boxes. Don’t set tools on furniture. Set all blinds uniformly before you leave. When a blind is installed, step back and view to make sure the valance and slats are presentable and level. Customer Care Do’s Use a battery operated vacuum to touch up debris. Offer to help reposition furniture. Take all trash and boxes with you. Thank the customer. It’s okay to ask if they are completely satisfied and is there anything you can do to make their installation better. Ensure the customer knows the blinds are warranted and if they have any concerns to notify the company. If a rare occurrence happens where you need to leave the premises , be specific about your return. Please use Lowe’s approved detail template. Customer Care Don’ts Never use foul language on the job. Never use tobacco products on or around the job site. Do not use bathroom facilities at the job. Do not use cell phone while at work for personal use. Do not walk through yard, flowers or mulch as a shortcuts. Do not leave copy of a detail for the customer. This is Lowe’s property and against policy. Do not remove any item from the house other than trash. Do not remove any blinds from jobsite unless specified on your sheet that they are a take down or haul away. Customer Care Don’ts Do not call about issues while in front of the customer. If you need to make a call, do it in your vehicle. Do not use measurements less than 1/8”. Do not expect or insinuate a tip. This is typically not a tipped position. Don’t approve any measurement you feel to be wrong. If a sales associate says “can we change the measurement?” – stick by your detail. If a customer wants something you are not sure will work, either say no or use covering notes at the bottom of the detail sheet.
