iTree Java Academy
An Open Door to a Bright Future
As part of our iTree Academy series, we‘re running a Java Summer
Session starting 15th June 2015! This is a unique opportunity to start
your career in the exciting and in-demand area of Java programming.
We have 10 (ten) open places and you’re welcome to apply.
Several IT companies and public organisations offer “academies”. How
is iTree Academy different?
• iTree Academy is Earn as you Learn: Those selected to participate
are offered an employment contract from their first day. Yes, that’s
right: not only is the training free, but you earn a salary while being
trained!
• Training in Java is provided by Oracle University – this guarantees a
high-quality learning experience.
• Courses are supplemented by hands-on practice and training led by
iTree’s own team of experts, including Oracle Certified Masters,
Certified Business Analysis Professionals, and ISTQB certified
Advanced Level software quality professionals.
DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS: 1st JUNE 2015

HOW TO GET A PLACE
Getting a place consists of a few simple steps:
• The requirements. Make sure you meet the minimum requirements listed below:
• Four year degree (final year students may apply). Preferred fields are IT,
mathematics, applied mathematics, engineering, bioinformatics. But, people with
degrees in other fields are welcome to try, too.
• Good English and Lithuanian language skills.
• Ability to work full-time.
• CV. Send us a CV in English and a letter (also in English) saying WHY you want to become
a Java developer. Important Advice: don’t use a template from the internet, we usually
stop reading those letters after the first five words. Be original, be honest. We don’t care
about the format, we don’t care about your grammar or spelling, we care about WHAT
you say, not HOW you say it. The CV and letter should be sent to [email protected]
• We usually get around 10-12 CVs to one place, so we’ll only invite those that stand out
from the crowd. If we find your CV meets the minimum requirements and your letter
catches our attention, we’ll invite you to an interview.
• The interview. Some advice:
• Please be yourself – you don’t have to wear a suit and tie or a fancy dress (how
many programmers do you know that wear formal clothes to work every day?
Formal clothes are NOT required for an interview). Come to the interview wearing
the clothes that make you feel comfortable – stuff you would wear to work every
day.
• Sell your personality. Since 99.9% of people applying to iTree Academies have very
little or zero IT work experience, it’s not about skills. It’s about YOU, your attitude,
your goals and how you would fit in with our culture. (Key points about our culture
are on the next page.)
• Ask questions about the training, about the job, about the culture, about anything
you want.
• Please be on time. This is just a bit of respect for everyone involved in the interview
and those waiting for interviews after your time slot.
• The offer. Within a day or two of your interview, we’ll call you and let you know if you’ve
won a place in this academy session. Some of you may be placed on a waiting list. And,
unfortunately, some of you won’t be offered a place at this time. But, trust in yourself and
you’ll make it!
• The paperwork. As soon as possible, we’ll invite you to sign an employment contract and
provide paperwork proving the information in your CV.
• Go! The academy starts.
