Ben and Laurie getting mobile to transport fingerlings for release up river Paul Gofton at Carpentaria Shire Council hatchery—who has been overseeing the breeding and care of the fingerlings The Gulf Barramundi Restocking Group had a lot of helpers—locals and visitors—when they were able to release Barramundi Fingerlings into the Norman River on Saturday 18th April. Total released on the day - 38,261. 3,265 released at the mouth and a further 34,996 released up the river—all bred at the Carpentaria Shire Council Barramundi Discovery Centre hatchery in Karumba.
