AYURVEDIC COOKING
WESTERN STYLE
Is cooking with Indian flavors, spices and ingredients the only way to apply Ayurvedic principles to one’s diet? Can one follow a balanced Ayurvedic diet and con4nue to eat foods that are more familiar to a Western palate?
I have created a hands-‐on cooking workshop that will explore the world of Western cooking from an Ayurvedic perspec4ve. Taste is the key to understanding Ayurvedic nutri4on. Ayurveda iden44es six tastes: sweet, sour, salty, pungent, bi=er and astringent. These tastes and the influence they exhibit on each of the three doshas (Vata, Pi=a, Kapha) can explain why certain foods influence your diges4on in a posi4ve way while others don’t. These tastes are easily available in any cuisine, regardless of its origin. Please join me for this exci4ng learning adventure. You will learn great recipes and healthy cooking 4ps, regardless of whether you are experienced or new to Ayurveda. I look forward to seeing you.
