RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE HONORABLE FLORENCIO “BUTCH”
ABAD, SECRETARY, DEPARTMENT OF BUDGET AND MANAGEMENT
(DBM) TO AMEND THE FY 2001 MASTERLIST OF LAND AREA BY
CORRECTING THE LAND AREA OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF KASIBU
BASED ON ITS APPROVED CADASTRAL SURVEY.
WHEREAS, this Sanggunian was informed that apportionment of IRA
to the LGUs is in accordance with the allocation formula prescribed under
Section 285 of RA 7160 taking into consideration among others, the land area
measurement based on the FY 2001 Masterlist of Land Area;
WHEREAS, this Sanggunian was also informed that the land area of
the Municipality of Kasibu on that FY 2001 Masterlist of Land Area is 31,880
hectares;
WHEREAS, historical background of the municipality shows that
Kasibu became part of the Municipal District of Bambang through Executive
Order 59 signed on January 1, 1926 by Governor General Leonard Wood. It
became a Municipal District in 1933. It was reattached to Bambang in 1950
through Executive Order 368 signed by President Elpidio Quirino in
November 9, 1950. It was recreated as Municipal District in January 19, 1956
through Executive Order 160 by President Ramon;
WHEREAS, on said above creation and recreation of Kasibu Municipal
District its metes and bounds were not established on the grounds but were
just on paper through compass and protractor especially so that its territorial
jurisdiction were described through the barrios covered;
WHEREAS, the Municipal Officials of Kasibu, in their interest to
establish the exact area of the locality had requested the Land Management
Bureau of DENR to have the municipality Cadastrally Surveyed;

WHEREAS, the Municipality of Kasibu was then Cadastrally Surveyed
under the close supervision of the Land Management Bureau Personnels of
Region 02 ensuring that all requirements, rules and regulations of Cadastral
Survey be considered;

WHEREAS, results of the Political Boundary Survey, Pb-(af)-02000148 of the Municipality of Kasibu was approved by the Land
Management Bureau of the DENR setting a total claimed area of the
municipality as 72,251.5629 hectares;
NOW THEREFORE, on motion of Honorable Juanito C. Domingo,
duly seconded, it wasRESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved to pass a Resolution requesting
the Honorable Florencio “Butch” Abad, Secretary, Department of Budget and
Management (DBM) to amend the fy 2001 Masterlist of Land Area by
correcting the land area of the Municipality of Kasibu based on its approved
Cadastral Survey.
RESOLVED FUTHER, that copies of the Final Report, Volumes 1 and
2 of the survey be provided as supporting document to this request.
